Excellent storyline and narration!
Revisado: 02-14-24
I’m a fan of Melanie’s books and love this historical fiction book in her series. I’m now going to highly anticipate the continuation of this story! The narration was perfect as always! I can’t find anything I disliked about this book.

Historia
When a banished witch falls in love with the legendary trickster Loki, she risks the wrath of the gods in this moving, subversive debut novel that reimagines Norse mythology. Angrboda’s story begins where most witches' tales end: with a burning. A punishment from Odin for refusing to provide him with knowledge of the future, the fire leaves Angrboda injured and powerless, and she flees into the farthest reaches of a remote forest. There she is found by a man who reveals himself to be Loki, and her initial distrust of him transforms into a deep and abiding love.

Story and Narration is Outstanding.
Revisado: 12-17-23
I have listened to a lot of audiobooks for years and rarely have I given a complete review. I loved this story! The narrator did it justice and then some! I had to know what happened next and I’m never like that with a story. This storyline hooked me! I immediately had empathy for the witch and eventually her children. Worth listening too!

Historia
Young Pip Tyler doesn't know who she is. She knows that her real name is Purity, that she's saddled with $130,000 in student debt, that she's squatting with anarchists in Oakland, and that her relationship with her mother - her only family - is hazardous. But she doesn't have a clue who her father is, why her mother chose to live as a recluse with an invented name, or how she'll ever have a normal life.

Terrific!
Revisado: 09-02-15
If you could sum up Purity in three words, what would they be?
Fabulous wonderful book
What other book might you compare Purity to and why?
Don't know and why would I?
Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No
If you could take any character from Purity out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Sorry...dumb question
Any additional comments?
I just bought purity on the day it was released here on audible. Someone gave the overall rating of two stars. How do you do that when it just got released today?? Totally unfair so I am countering that false rating with a good rating!

Her gift of "Sight," the ability to foresee the future, is priceless in the troubled times of the Tudor court. Hannah is adopted by the glamorous Robert Dudley, the charismatic son of King Edward's protector, who brings her to court as a "holy fool" for Queen Mary and, ultimately, Queen Elizabeth.
