Hope Punk Green Does it Again

I’m a massive fan of the Greens because I feel they put a lot of good in the world, even (or especially) when that good is hard to see. Hank’s Carl duology is no different.
So we pick up where An Absolutely Remarkable Thing left off, but from the varied perspectives of the people closest to April May. We watch them evolve from people trying to cope, to people trying to make the world a better place. I’ll offer no more than that so as to avoid spoilers, but this is a must-read if the world is getting you down, and you need to be convinced that we can fix it.

This book came as a balm to me. I have a twitter account where my opinions are weapons to toss at people with the wrong ones. It’s easy to forget that we’re all just trying to get by. Thanks to April May and the Carls, maybe I’ll be able to remember more often. This is hope punk.

As I said in the title, I’ve been a fan of urban fantasy since my teens, but somehow Atticus escaped my notice. Now I’ve discovered him, I see that he’s a fantastic character, deserving to sit alongside Harry Dresden on my shelves.

Meant entirely as a compliment, this is the best Doctor Who fan fic ever.
The author has said that the seed of this novel was inspired by the Doctor Who anniversary special, and to the seasoned Whovian, that much is clear. Beyond that though, we have a world and a galaxy deep in culture and history. I truly hope this is the first in a series.
