Beautiful tribute

This is a beautifully written tribute to the Grand canyon. it's written with humility, appreciation and an insatiable hunger for the world below the Rim. it's educational and insightful without being dry. It was well worth the wait for the time it took the author to find the words, an absolute beauty of a tribute to the land and the people.

Hits Hard the Whole Time

This story hits hard for the entire duration. deep concepts and dark thoughts coupled with the harsh reality of simply existing in this world done by the author is lifted off the page by a wonderful performance by the narrator. Life, love, grief, loss, depression, Gallows humor, coming of age, the infatuation with the power of words all come together in a beautiful culmination that strikes to the very soul. It truly teaches us its better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Experiencing life and all of its complexity, both positive and negative, shapes us.

Wonderful Narrator

Narrator is fantastic, the writing could have been slimmed down, as there was way more context and background than necessary to explain the event and history behind the event that changes their lives. The story is fleshed out to stretch much longer than it needs to be, and while a lot of data is given to support the concepts and science and history behind the events, much of it is completely irrelevant, but I suppose Esteban very much wanted the entire story, and his story to be told, so much of it is from his perspective that, in the end, reveals he wanted something a little more out of this book than simply to explain what happened. A serious story, an interesting reader, but more detail on events leading up to it than we needed.

This is a great short listen. While concise. the author still conveys the submitted stories with ease, and the narrator does a wonderful job conveying the message. These are short and relatively quick accounts that can satisfy even the most impatient listener.
