Historia
Nineteen years ago, I was plucked from the heart of a bloody massacre that spared nobody else. Small. Fragile. An enigma. Now ward to a powerful High Master who knows too much and says too little, I lead a simple life, never straying from the confines of an imaginary line I've drawn around the castle grounds.

Painful to get through
Revisado: 02-18-23
The female main character is so weak, pathetic, and seems to be completely off her rocker. She acts like a complete sociopath. The whole book is about her shamelessly vying for a man’s attention who does not want her in return. It’s so pathetic and cringey, I even got second hand embarrassment from certain scenes. She’s immature and oh so pathetic. Her toxic unrequited love for this man is disgusting. Also, the fact that she takes pleasure in him physically abusing her and him drinking her blood is even more disgusting.
The character building needs a lot of work. After 12 hours, I still don’t know if the male main character is human or not. The story was so disjointed.
Also, the way they displayed how women act on their period’s was completely and utterly dramatic and disturbing.
All in all, save your credit. I would not recommend this book to someone who wants to read actual captivating content.

Historia
Isolde, newly coronated queen, has finally found a king worthy of her in the vampire Adrian. But their love for each other has cost Isolde her father and her homeland. With two opposing goddesses playing mortals and vampires like chess pieces against one another, Isolde is uncertain who her allies are in the vampire stronghold of Revekka. Now, as politics in the Red Palace grow more underhanded and a deadly blood mist threatens all of Cordova, Isolde must trust in the bond she's formed with Adrian, even as she learns troubling information about his complicated past.

Too many gratuitous sex scenes and redundant actions
Revisado: 01-09-23
This book seemed like a filler to get to the final book of the trilogy. There were so many unnecessary and random sex scenes that it took away from the plot of the story. The plot became very disjointed from all the ridiculously random sex scenes. There were plot twists in the book that were just thrown at the reader without any explanation of how they furthered the story in any way. Also, to add to the madness, the author kept having Adrian anger Isolde, then he’d apologize. This happened over and over again, throughout the whole book. It got very redundant and annoying. Adrian and Isolde are very static in this book. No real emotional or maturity changes happen to either character within the book, nothing that makes the reader feel differently about the characters. This book is a thinly veiled version of smut, to be honest. It had potential, but the great excess of sex scenes and the redundant actions of the main characters throughout the book killed the budding plot quickly. I’m giving the book three stars because the female narrator did an excellent job and parts of the plot in the book were decent. The male narrator needs to be replaced. His voice does not fit this type of story.

Historia
Lee Stone is a twenty-first-century woman: she kicks butt at her job as a communications director at a women-run electric car company (that’s better than Tesla, thank you), and after work she is “Stoner,” drinking guys under the table and never letting any of them get too comfortable in her bed…

What an absolute mess!
Revisado: 05-24-22
This book was such a mess! It was all over the place. There were waaay to many plot twists and scandals in the story. It is very unrealistic. There is absolutely no way that the main character would have gotten the job of a communications director. She was such a mess. She was a pothead, alcoholic, and possibly a nymphomaniac. Also, she was very impulsive and trashy. She and Ben were very pathetic. And honestly, the more I read, the more cringy and sad it got. I wish I never wasted a credit on this mess of a book. Do yourself a favor and read “Meet Me in the Middle”. This book tried to accomplish what “Meet Me in the Middle” does, but did not succeed to say the least. I guess if you love toxic relationships and immature adults, then this book is for you.
