Historia
“You like it darker? Fine, so do I,” writes Stephen King in the afterword to this magnificent new collection of twelve stories that delve into the darker part of life—both metaphorical and literal. King has, for half a century, been a master of the form, and these stories, about fate, mortality, luck, and the folds in reality where anything can happen, are as rich and riveting as his novels, both weighty in theme and a huge pleasure to digest.

Why The Hell Is The Narrator Whispering The Entire Book
Revisado: 06-20-24
I’ve never had an audible book with for no good reason the narrator whispers the entire book? I’ve never had my volume, switched on high for 20 hours and missed half of the book due to whispering?
I completely do not understand why they did this?
I’m calling this purchase A TOTAL MISS - although, the little I did hear was rather good,
I guess I’ll have to go to Barns and Noble and buy a hard copy!

Historia
Though there are many factors behind such success, including luck and the contributions of his creative partner Marshall Herskovitz, he’s known to have a special talent for bringing out the best in the people he’s worked with, notably the actors. In those intense collaborations, he seeks to discover the small pieces of connective tissue, vulnerability, and fellowship that can help an actor realize their character in full.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

The Man
Revisado: 05-23-21
What can you say about Anthony Bourdain that we all didn't know? Nothing!
The man is a rolling dynamo. Kitchen Confidential was a reread for me and it's still as fresh and witty as it was twenty years ago.
I love it and I love him.
I miss him terribly.

Historia
Here is one of the best historical novels ever written. Lame, stammering Claudius, once a major embarrassment to the imperial family and now emperor of Rome, writes an eyewitness account of the reign of the first four Caesars: the noble Augustus and his cunning wife, Livia; the reptilian Tiberius; the monstrous Caligula; and finally old Claudius himself. Filled with poisonings, betrayal, and shocking excesses, I Claudius is history that rivals the most exciting contemporary fiction.
