Historia
On the edge of the galaxy, a diplomatic mission to an alien planet takes a turn when the Legionnaires, an elite special fighting force, find themselves ambushed and stranded behind enemy lines. They struggle to survive under siege, waiting on a rescue that might never come. In the seedy starport of Ackabar, a young girl searches the crime-ridden gutters to avenge her father's murder; not far away, a double-dealing legionniare-turned-smuggler hunts an epic payday; and somewhere along the outer galaxy, a mysterious bounty hunter lies in wait.

Historia
Stryker Company always brings the fight, but when they relieve embittered and embattled Republic marines, they find an enemy unwilling to stand up and face them. Tasked with protecting the Republic's interests on a mining world, the legionnaires face roadside ambushes, double-dealing locals, and constant sabotage. And the mission isn’t as straightforward as they thought it would be. As skirmishes escalate into coordinated ambushes, two squad leaders, Talon and Lankin, are forced to chase after the sparks threatening to ignite the entire populace into a full-blown insurgency.

Beating a dead horse with little added
Revisado: 12-28-23
Probably the worst book in the series. It’s like the third author they added had a grudge against commissioned officers with their fancy degrees or something and it drowns out what makes the book good. This was just a frothing at the mouth tirade against points, like we get it. The story itself is clunky. I should’ve known RC not narrating this off shoot was a bad sign

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

A king twist on a fairy tale collection book
Revisado: 11-29-23
The front of the book tells you everything you need to know. The slow, meticulous story and world building made me worry for a slow book but I should’ve trusted the method. Great book with the darkness of king twisting the typical fairy tale trope. There are other worlds than these, reader.

Historia
An electromagnetic pulse blinds the U.S. Cars crash. Planes fall. Chaos reigns. Power is restored within minutes, but it’s already too late. Russian nukes are falling. U.S. allies around the world are already wiped out. The United States will cease to exist inside of five minutes. After giving the order to launch a full-scale retaliation–dooming the planet–the president, his staff, Secret Service and those lucky enough to be visiting the White House, are whisked below ground, where they board several Earth Escape Pods. As the EEPs launch into Earth orbit, missiles descend.

Not well written
Revisado: 09-24-23
I love the infinite timeline as a whole and the stories JR tells. Formal writing and such isn’t his strong suit but that normally doesn’t matter because the words he shows us are fun. But man this was a flop for me wish I could return it. If I hadn’t listened to all the other infinite books I’d have given it a 1 and called Amazon for a refund

Historia
As Kill Team Victory and General Chhun take control of the cities on Kima, a war every bit as spiritual as it is physical rages in the deepest parts of galaxy’s edge. The Legion and the Republic military at large struggle to deal with a sudden multitude of planetary invasions and uprisings, with rumors of mysterious ships breaking the peace achieved by Article Nineteen. Meanwhile, Captain Aeson Keel continues his search for Prisma, aided by friends from both his past and present. But only mankind’s oldest ally can hold back the tide of ultimate destruction.

1/5 of the book is author comments
Revisado: 12-02-22
Far too much of this shorter audiobook is just bits about the author. The epilogue was the most interesting part of the book. Seems rushed and less than typical. Bray excellent as usual

Historia
The Merry Band of Pirates offered the bad guys a ceasefire. We won’t mess with them, if they don’t mess with us. Easy, right? No. The aliens chose to do things the hard way. So, the Pirates are racing around the galaxy to clean up the threat to Earth. The infant UN Navy has their own mission with the Alien Legion: Get humanity some allies in the fight. And the Ethics & Compliance Office might have to do something...ethical. Unless they can find a way around it.

Slower book each time
Revisado: 06-18-21
This books tempo was slower, and seems like it has filler. Possible less filler than the last book, but it feels like it takes over 10h for the book to get its legs. I’m committed to the series, I’ll listen til it’s over and I’m glad this book wasn’t the first of its series or it would have less support. I recommend the ExFor series to any scifi lover or those who enjoy fiction just listen to them chronologically. As far as a stand-alone book RC did an outstanding job per usual. Alanson crams too much action in the last 3 hours and ends in what feels like the middle of a paragraph.

5/5, also never lose RC Bray
Revisado: 05-18-21
This book really was a 5/5. Huge improvement from the previous galaxy’s edge timeline series. Authors sometimes get tangentially political, beyond what is necessary to paint that of corrupt politicians and points which takes away from the main story. This was a brilliantly executed book, with all the right twists that were set up ages ago. All in all, well done. Never lose RC Bray for any main GE story line books, he adds so much.

Historia
The Coalition is reeling. New Vega and its other worlds have fallen beneath the boot of the newly allied Savage marines, and the death count continues to rise at a staggering rate. One thing is clear: The war to come will be a fight for the very survival of the species. For both sides in this conflict, now is the time to become what fate, and victory, demand. The Savages - post-human monsters who believe themselves to be gods - are intent on remaking civilization in their own violent and pathological image. Yet their alliance is tenuous.

Way too many Uber-conservative undertones
Revisado: 05-03-21
Present through the galaxy’s edge series is a conservative viewpoint that’s impossible to miss but this book has way too many overtly sleights and liberal agendas that don’t add to the story. “Protest about people who don’t know what bathroom to use” etc. I enjoy their books that are too busy and action/suspense filled to get lots of political views in. This one made me question if I’m supporting an intolerant author.

These are 20 new crime mysteries together in one large collection, taken from a string of short stories set in the late 19th century. No fictional characters are more renowned for their powers of thought and observation than Sherlock Holmes and his faithful companion, Dr. John Watson.

Disappointing story
Revisado: 02-25-21
I loved the stories by Arthur Conan Doyle, and only for this book because it was performed by a brilliant sci-fi narrator, RC Bray. The stories do not hold a candle to the original, are repetitive in premise, and lack the depth both analysis and complexity of crimes solved. Sherlock and Watson do not have nearly the personalities they should. This seems more like fan fiction based on novelties and cliches.

Every disaster brings an opportunity. Goth Sullus and his empire have fallen. With the Legion and the rest of the galaxy watching from the still-smoldering galactic core, Carter, a former legionnaire turned private contractor, and Jack Bowie, a Navy spy with nowhere left to turn, sign up to work for an enterprising private contractor looking to make a statement on the planet Kublar. Plans are in motion dating back to the Savage Wars, and as the galaxy rushes to fill in the vacuum created by the fall of the Imperial Republic, the bodies are hitting the floor.

Sci-fi military done well
Revisado: 12-13-20
I think Galaxy’s edge portrays sci-fi warfare well (less space battles, more infantry fighting with a twist). I am unsure if this series is related to Star Wars, and if that’s like a knock off but I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt
