The story was a great mix of sexual tension, mystery and suspense. Well written, realistic police procedures. The narrator has a pleasant voice but all sorts of weird inflections and pauses during sentences that emphasize words that sound odd. I had to mentally go back and picture the sentence written to figure out what it meant sometimes because his inflection changed the meaning of the sentence and/or the pause was not somewhere a comma would be.

The story always really fun. Narrator was good except didn’t seem to stay in British accent character very well…kept getting a little confused about who was talking.

I couldn’t listen to the last two books

These might have been good stories. The author did a good job with police procedure and some character development. I just could not listen to another minute. Finished the first book because, well, I don’t like to not finish a book. But the narrator was just, ugh. Couldn’t keep the character voices straight, the emotion displayed was ridiculously flat or over the top cheesy. Just don’t.

Adjust the narration speed and you’ll love it.

Many reviews complained about the narration but I love JA Huss stories so I gave it a chance. When the make narrated I sped the narration up to 1.2. For the female, slowed it to 0.9. It made for a perfect listen. Was it a pain? Yes. But the boxed set story was so worth it. The climax of the last book felt a little rushed, but still worked. Love that lo the books were available together for one credit.

Narrator made it amazing!!

I normally avoid single narrator audio books these days. You know how some female narrators can’t pull off male voices? Not only did she do that well, but fully authentic Scottish accents brilliantly transitioned from the main character’s (and narrator’s) native American one. Good story, heart warming and steamy too. Of course wanted to throw my phone at times with the angsty “it’s my fault” from the main character, but it was part of her journey. Highly recommend!

It was ok. Lots of sex scenes but story drawn out.

It was included in my membership so I was fine with listening to all three books. Wouldn’t have been thrilled if I’d had to purchase. Overall a nice romance, just felt like there were a few too many sex scenes. Who doesn’t love a good sex scene but it felt overdone just to make the story longer and break it into 3 books.

Love the story, can’t stand the female narrator

Ugh, the female narrator sounds like she has her “Eleven o’clock News Anchor” voice on with almost constant awful inflections at the end of her sentences. It’s enough that I will just get the books on iBooks and read them because I can’t stand listening to her anymore after a couple of hours in. It’s sad because she does try to act out the part...just can’t handle the overdone reporter voice.

Narration was so much better than the first in the series.

Storyline is good, keeps you engaged. The narrator has obviously done quite a bit of work since the previous book in the series. She did a fantastic job with the voices and accents.
