Historia
Tending to the soldiers in the trenches of France during the First World War, battlefield nurse Bess Crawford can't help but notice the photo of a young pilot's wife every time she tends to him. But then at the railway station, in a mob of troops leaving for the front, Bess glimpses a familiar face - the pilot's wife, with another man. Later, back in France, Bess sees a newspaper with a drawing of the woman's face on the front page. She'd been murdered - the very day Bess saw her.

WW1
Revisado: 09-15-23
My grandmother served as a nurse in WW1, my grandfather as an ambulance driver, a great died in the Argonne. Bess Crawford brings them to life. I so enjoy these adventures.

Fantasy
Revisado: 03-25-22
I don’t normally like fantasy, but this caught my attention due to the plot line. I spent half the time trying to work my brain around airships, Tesla lamps and transcribers in the Victorian period.
The story caught my attention and held it throughout. I like the way the vampires and ghosts were dealt with.

Historia
In the depths of the Depression, millions worldwide followed every twist and turn of the Lindbergh baby kidnap/murder. Yet what was reported was largely fake news. Nearly a century after undocumented immigrant Bruno Richard Hauptmann was executed for the dastardly crime, questions still linger. If the wrong man was convicted, who did it? When? Why? Where? How? The shocking answers have eluded all prior authors.

This will make you think
Revisado: 01-17-22
I have long been curious about the Lindbergh kidnapping. Mainly because as a builders daughter I’m obsessed with the ladder. No carpenter in his right mind would have made a ladder like that. This book is the first I’ve read about the crime, well researched, well written and inspiring. I’m off to do ore sleuthing! Too bad it was botched or covered up so well. Imagine allowing the press in to trample all over the place!

Historia
Young Michael, an illegal immigrant escaping the troubles in Northern Ireland is strong and fearless and clever, just the fellow to be tapped by Darkey, a crime boss, to join a gang of Irish thugs struggling against the rising Dominican powers in Harlem and the Bronx. The time is pre-Giuliani New York, when crack rules the city, squatters live furtively in ruined buildings, and hundreds are murdered each month.

Hard to follow.

I just couldn’t get into the story. It was disjointed and I didn’t think it was worth my time.
