Any additional comments?

I read this book many moons ago, but listening to it put it on another level. Mr. Chet Williamson has such a great voice when it comes to audiobooks...and he's a pretty dang good author his own self!

Any additional comments?

I've read the book years ago, but listening to it (while driving across the deserts of Utah and Nevada) let me enjoy this familiar tale in a new light. It's a great story made even better by Chet Williamson's reading. I look forward to listening to the sequel.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. A very effective story. One of the best horror stories I've read in the past couple of years.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Judgment Night?

Opening the crate.

What about Bill Kates’s performance did you like?

The timbre.

If you could take any character from Judgment Night out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Really?

Any additional comments?

It’s been my opinion that horror is one of the hardest genres to create an effective and original story in during this day and age of vampires, zombies, and psycho killers. To be honest, I’ve been basically burned out with these storylines for the past couple of years. I want goose bumps when I hear a horror story. And boy did I get them with this tale…in spades.

JUDGEMENT NIGHT by Nancy Collins starts out with the setup for your run of the mill horror movie. Four teenagers from the wrong side of the tracks enter into an old mansion, intent on vandalizing the place and causing general mayhem in the place. You, the reader, know exactly where this story is going. That is until the kids find a human-size crate with air holes drilled into it.
And then they open it…

Without giving away any spoilers, things immediately go south for the boys and the suspense is ramped up significantly…unrelenting to the end.

There’s a lot more I’d love to say about the story, except it would go into spoiler territory. I’ll just say this…
The title, in my mind, has a double meaning.

I highly recommend JUDGEMENT NIGHT. It’s one of the best horror stories I’ve heard in the past couple of years.
Just keep the nightlight on when you go to bed after listening to this tale of terror.
