Nice book, but predictable story

The book is nice and the narrator is fantastic as she always is. But the story is very predictable as it is indeed just a reinterpretation of the movie „Pretty Woman“. Every major plot line in the movie is in this book. Still worth the listen, just don’t expect any unexpected plot twists if you’ve seen the movie.

Bad heroine

Right now I’m debating finishing this book. The story itself is not bad but the heroine is annoying, unreasonable, self-absorbed, and lacks common sense. It's her way or the highway and the ways she tries to achieve this makes her extremely unlikable. I felt for her in the beginning, but this dissipated quickly.
I understood she had a horrible history with this man, but so many of her actions in regard to him didn't make sense. There were parts where I wondered why he even put up with her antics and didn't just take the mistress as she suggested.

This book is very unlike other books by this author who usually writes fantastic heroines.
So if this is your first Kleypas book, don’t give up! Read the Wallflowers or the Ravenels next! Those will make you forget this mishap.
The narrator is fantastic as always.

Great story, bad narration

The story is beautiful a typical Julia Quinn.
But the narrator for this book wasn’t very good. Her voice sounds bored and annoyed most of the time. Not fitting for this book at all. There is almost no difference in the way she voices the characters. So it’s hard to follow who says what.
I ended up buying the kindle book only 4 chapters in and read this instead.
I wish the narrator was the same as the narrator for the other two books in the series. Rosalyn Landor is splendid! Any chance for a re-recording of this book with her? So it matches the rest of the series? Please???

Love the book and the voice

The narrator is the perfect choice for Alex. Strong and determined but so passionate. I already read the books probably three times, so I obviously love the story. Not gonna say anything about it to avoid spoilers.
But this is a great audiobook or a great book. Worth listening!!!

The voices are not right ...

I was really looking forward to listening to this audiobook. But the narrators are poorly chosen. The "Seth" voice sounds like he's 40+ not like a guy in his early 20s. It makes it really hard to listen to his chapters. He sounds rude and brutal most of the time and when he talks about Josie he sounds downright creepy.
The "Josie" voice is the same voice as Alex from the Covenant series and this is soooo wrong. It is hard to enjoy Josie if she sounds exactly like the worlds most awesome half-blood. She should have gotten her own voice. You can get over it after some time, but the "Seth" voice ruined it for me.
If you get this book with Audible Escape it's ok to listen to, but I wouldn't actually buy it. I had to stop listening after some chapters.
