Historia
The island of Iwo Jima was the epic land and sea battle that produced one of the iconic images of WWII: the Marines raising the American flag on Mount Surabachi, an active volcano that was the site of intense hand to hand combat. In this gripping novel, P. T. Deutermann follows a young gunnery liaison officer, Lee Bishop, who during the ferocious battle for the island is pulled from his station aboard the USS Nevada to serve onshore as a spotter, calling in coordinates for the ship to target with missiles.

Terrific book, very soft-spoken reader, making a difficult follow and understand
Revisado: 08-25-24
I really enjoyed the book to the extent I could hear it, but the reader seem to speak very softly so that even with volume on the highest setting on my iPhone, if there’s any background noise where I was listening, I missed much of what he was saying.
I’m not sure if this is simply the reader, speaking far too softly or the volume on the original recording being set way too low, but it doesn’t work at all

Historia
Anthony Fauci is arguably the most famous–and most revered–doctor in the world today. His role guiding America sanely and calmly through Covid (and through the torrents of Trump) earned him the trust of millions during one of the most terrifying periods in modern American history, but this was only the most recent of the global epidemics in which Dr. Fauci played a major role. His crucial role in researching HIV and bringing AIDS into sympathetic public view and his leadership in navigating the Ebola, SARS, West Nile, and anthrax crises, make him truly an American hero.

Great story about reacher in the army
Revisado: 07-05-24
I’m a big fan of all of the reacher books, but this is the first one I’ve read where he was still in the army. It’s an excellent read and very consistent with the subsequent books outside of the army.

Excellent, interesting book. More than I expected.
Revisado: 12-12-23
I’m generally not a fan of celebrity biographies or stories, but I am a fan of Star Trek and Patrick Stewart. I decided to take a chance on this book and I’m glad that I did.
It is interesting and engaging and tells a life story that was interesting and compelling before he gets into, his time associated with Star Trek.
This is a thoughtful, personal book about Patrick Stewart his life from the time he was a small boy, his interest as a Shakespearean actor, he was first involved with Star Trek and his thoughts about the show right up to, including a discussion about his most recent three year series called Picard .

Revisado: 09-22-23
I’m not generally a big fan of fantasy as much as science-fiction, but the reviews of this looking intriguing, so I got this book. It is a low-key but extremely interesting read but touches on magic but not excessively. It’s one of the stories that you want to keep listening to find out what else occurs. Simply a very enjoyable five star read.
