Historia
Silas is inducted into the System, becoming the last in a long line of Earth's "forerunners." The rewards are great, but the danger is greater. We are not alone in the universe. The fate of five worlds hangs on how their forerunners perform. Will Silas have what it takes to win Earth a place in the multiverse? Or will Earth become another mining world stripped of all resources and left a barren husk floating in the cosmos?

I really enjoyed the premise and the story in general.
Revisado: 09-01-24
The author Had to go into detail about "man-splaining," which broke me out of the awesome story being told and braught me back to this reality. This is nothing but a political talking point/ ideology that just promotes general hatred for men. Can't say I'm a huge fan for having said ideologies shoved down me throat at every turn (or so it feels like) these days, when I am actively trying to escape this dystopian reality we currently live in, via books, but such is life.
And finally, it felt like the pacing was off towards the end.
Other than these two issues (roughly 10%) the other 90% of the book was fantastic. Probably other things I missed on the negativeside of things, but eh, wasn't enough to break me out of the story, I guess.

Historia
In just seven days, the world will crumble. The System's Descent will usher in a new era of chaos: wild animals mutating, monstrous creatures emerging, and the cessation of modern technology. Humanity will be left defenseless. Drew Wright knows none of this. At least not until he is rudely ripped from his bed and thrust into a white room to undergo a taser-happy ‘Tutorial’. Turns out, he is one of a thousand randomly selected people to be forewarned of the approaching apocalypse. Now, he faces the delightful task of convincing his wife and mother of the devastation hurtling towards them.

9.8 to a near 10 out of 10, a Fantastic listen/read!
Revisado: 07-30-24
Absolutely loved this read/listen. I have read many different amazing LitRPG's such as "He Who Fights Monsters," "The Defiance of The Fall," "The Primal Hunter," and "The Azarinth Healer," along sooo many more, (these are just to name a few of the ones that are quite popular, and how much i personallylove them); I believe this beginning of a series has that potential to be as popular and just as amazing.
Though fair WARNING: If ye can not discuss or read about religion in a open minded way, then this book series is most likely not for you
The Story: Starts off relatively slow but with much anticipation for whats to come. Then it gets into the meat of the action after about a "week" of in-book world building. There are appropriate time skips here and there, approximately 3 or 4, that I can remember, so there isn't too much repetition and the story is moving forward at a good pace. The pacing is really nice as well, though different than many others similar books of this genera, which is a posative in my book. Kept me on me toes somewhat.
The MC: Isn't too overpowered to start off with, which could be a pro or con depending on personal preferences. Not an immediate know it all, and it seems he learns from his mistakes throughout the book. So decent, if not great, 'character' as is, with room for further character growth.
Side Characters: Great variety of side Characters. Some ye can love, a lot ye can hate, and everything in-between.
(P.S. There's more, but this is more than enough of a generalized out look of This Book series so far, I believe. Everything i type in here is prety much from personal opinion and experiences, I highly recommend reading this for yourselves)

Historia
Savannah was unlike any city Derek had ever been to. For the first time since his arrival in Cydaria, Derek actually met a respectable city lord. Natalie Savannah and the city she ruled were much more than he’d imagined. With this combination, Derek made the decision to put down roots by building a shop from scratch and moving his people in. He was even able to get Silvi the beloved kitchen that she so desired, along with personally meeting Alanah Swan and learning new things about the new system he was thrown into—things that only someone who was truly strong would know.

Love the series... but...
Revisado: 06-15-24
*Spoiler Warning!*
The one thing I absolutely was disgusted at in this particular book, is in chapter 43, when the MC basically scoffs at an absolutely amazing skill givin as a reward (that he then proceeds to give it to his companion later on, which I'm not totally against,) but the sheer stupidity of scoffing and rejecting an absolute banger of a skill, just grinds my gears ro the utmost, so to speak. I feel as if the author had an amazing opportunity here and absolutely squandered it. I mean think about it... "Void Dragon Fire," or "Dragon Void Fire," would have been soo feckin cool (if it had been possible to combine the MC's affinity of void with the skill givin, of course ... not like he was already doing it with "multi-strike," or "sweeping slash,". It's not like Silvi is capable of using to something akin to a void lightning bolt, so why not Dragon Fire with void properties as well?). Even if the MC couldnt combine "Dragon Fire" with his void affinity, it's still "Dragon Fire,". (sigh) This is still a damn good series, and I think the author even acknowledged this ... hiccup... later on in the next book of this series. At the end if the day, it tis what it is. Rant over.

I forgot how whiney the MC is.
Revisado: 02-12-24
Been two years since I read the last book, and I guess I forgot the reason why I stopped reading these books. Yhe very first Chapter, it reminds me why i dropped this series like a sake of potatoes. The MC is an absolute whiney C@$t, and shows very little to no character development, in excepting herself for who and what she is. It's "Oh whoa, is me," almost all the time. Meanwhile, I'm sitting over here jealous as all hell, while the MC just criticizes and complains constantly (about 99% of the time). Maybe it gets better over time, like over the next 10+ books or so. Or even in this book, (Book 10) it could possibly get better. (Sigh) The story is fine (actually can be quite good, of not fantastic), it's just the MC that drives me nuts, and ruins it all for me. (For further clarification, The voice actor (VA) does a great job, and I'm not complaining about her, at all.)

Roller Coaster of emotions, and Hard to Finish
Revisado: 12-12-23
Right at the beginning things were okay, but then..... Absolutely hated the ending if the first part of this book (the before and after they exit the raid dungeon). i.e. the middle was garbage. Towards the end things got better, ish. I guess I should have realized that Ghosthound was more "simple," than I gave him credit for. Honestly this deserved a 1 star rating in my opinion, but because the story somewhat improved after a while towards the last arc of story and the performance of the voice actor was at least good, 2 stars for the story and 3 stars over all. Hmmm, I will give it this though: The Main Villain in the series so far (The Monster) was done well in the fact, that she's real easy to hate. I.e. We can trully Love to Hate this Queen B. Honestly I don't want to continue to read this series anymore, if it's just going to bring even more disappointments. The more I sit here thinking about it, the more i begin to hate this series, because it started off soooo strong with a massive ton of potential with plenty of absolute fun and exciting moments. Now I'm jist expecting more disappointment, because that's kind of where it seems to be heading towards. Sooo, yeah, i'm pretty done with this series.

Revisado: 11-28-23
On chapter 9 so far, and I'm still not getting any murderhobo. Its nothing but these other characters (wanna be "dumbledwarf" Dawn) that i jist want to see kicked in the teeth. Feeling cheated, (sigh) ima try to get past this but im not liking it so far. 😕 So much potential. Waisted.
