She's excited about the grand re-opening, but when she learns a hoax letter went out to the residents of Danger Cove informing them of free baked goods, she panics and does the only thing she can - quickly sets out plates of muffins, cupcakes, and cookie bars. BAD NARRATOR.
Revisado: 11-09-18
The narrator of the audio is terrible, I literally could not even finish listening to the first paragraph. She sounds like a snotty 14 year old "Valley Girl". I have read all of the Danger Cove books and enjoyed them.

Historia
While walking her poodle, Olivia Limoges discovers a dead body buried in the sand. Could it be connected to the bizarre burglaries plaguing Oyster Bay, North Carolina? At every crime scene, the thieves set up odd tableaus: a stick of butter with a knife through it, dolls with silver spoons in their mouths, a deck of cards with a missing queen. Olivia realizes that each setup represents a cliché. And who better to decode the cliché clues than her Bayside Book Writers group?

Good story, terrible narrator.
Revisado: 01-14-16
I couldn't even listen to all of the first chapter of this book. The narrator has a voice like nails on blackboard. She sounds like a hyper 6 yr old. I have read all of the books in this series and am disappointed that I will not be able to also enjoy the Ebooks.

Terrible reader
Revisado: 12-11-13
The reader for this book was so bad that I couldn't finish the ebook. She couldn't keep her voice the same from sentence to the next. She shifted back and forth from southern, french to hispanic and even asian, all being spoken by the same person. She also portrayed the best friend as a sqeaky voiced half wit.

J.D. Robb as always rocks. Narrator irritating.
Revisado: 06-26-13
As with all of the "In Death" series, this book is engrossing and has really intriguing plot line. Unfortunately Susan Erikson's is as always, irritating, snotty and abrasive. She makes Eve Dallas sound like a stone cold bitch. She does not seem to understand that Eve doesn't have to raise her voice or speak in a confrontational manner at all time. She should be allowed to speak in a normal tone when speaking to people. Even when threatening someone it is more effective to use a calm quiet menacing voice. Unfortunately Ms Eriksons narrates all authors in this manner. However I continue to listen to these books because I love the stories. Where's Loralei King when you need her?

Story Great, reader horrible.
Revisado: 12-24-12
Would you try another book from Catherine Coulter and/or Laural Merlington?
I have read all of the FBI series a number of times, but do not enjoy the audio books because the reader does a terrible job.
What didn’t you like about Laural Merlington’s performance?
She does a terrible job with the various voices. She cannot do male voices at all. She made very macho verile Dillion Savich sound like Pee Wee Herman. All of the male voices are high and squeeky.
Was Riptide worth the listening time?
Yes, if you can get around the readers voice, the story is great. Luckily I have read the book a couple of times.

Great as always
Revisado: 12-15-12
What did you love best about Seven Up?
The various wacky characters.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Getting there is the most fun
What about Lorelei King’s performance did you like?
Lorelei King is great. She not only has all of the main characters down pat, but they are true to the written descptions of each character. I have read all of Ms Evanovich's books and have just recently started listening to the audios. Ms King is also very consistant in her voices for each character through out the series. She is one of the best. I wish she would do JD Robb's "In Death" series.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I have actually laughed out loud at some of the sceene, particarlly with Grandma Mazur or Lula.

Story great, nattator not so great.
Revisado: 12-15-12
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I would get a different narrator.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
As always, Ms Davidson saves her killer close, until the end.
How could the performance have been better?
Narrator has very very snooty, sarcastic style though out the entire book. She is so bad that when a body is discovered you expect her to say "Whatever", like she is to bored to be bother. She narrated all of the "Goldie" bookes in this same bored sarcastic manner.
