Historia
When Aisling Conroy's boyfriend Jack is found in the freezing black waters of the river Corrib, the police tell her it was suicide. A surgical resident, she throws herself into study and work, trying to forget - until Jack's sister Maude shows up. Maude suspects foul play, and she is determined to prove it. Cormac Reilly is the detective assigned with the re-investigation of a seemingly accidental overdose 20 years ago - the overdose of Jack and Maude's drug-and-alcohol-addled mother. Reilly is under increasing pressure to charge Maude for murder when his colleague Danny uncovers new evidence....

Historia
During his 20 years as a Navy officer and SEAL, Rich Diviney was intimately involved in a specialized SEAL selection process, which whittled a group of hundreds of extraordinary candidates down to a handful of the most elite performers. Diviney was often surprised by which candidates washed out and which succeeded. Some could have all the right skills and still fail, while others he might have initially dismissed would prove to be top performers.

Grit meets Science
Revisado: 01-28-21
Excellent narration by the author. Stories are well told and relevant. Content is in depth but accessible and useful to anyone with an interest in understanding self and others. Diviney’s work with Andrew Huberman helps make this book more than just another book written by highly trained and accomplished SEAL. Thankfully absent are inspirational slogans / “just do it” messaging yet the message is both inspirational and motivational. This is my new gift-for-everyone book!

Suspicion falls on several townspeople, all of whom profess their innocence.

Lovely description of Inverness in 1950s
Revisado: 07-18-17
If you could sum up A Small Death in the Great Glen in three words, what would they be?
If you are familiar with Inverness, you will probably like this book. Many nice descriptions of the highlights of this city. Inverness isn't named, but Scott could not be describing any other place. It is a good background/busy work listen, easy to follow and easy to understand.

Historia
Admittedly, there's a touch of black humor in the case. Rich, old practical joker Andrew Trent summons his kin to the remote Arrat House in the dead of winter for a deathbed farewell. They arrive to find him in perfect health and eager to torment them with a new bag of unfunny jokes.

Any additional comments?
I really like this series - the stories are easy to listen to - the setting and the supporting characters that carry over from story to story. Hamish Macbeth is great to listen to while doing busy work or driving. Some I have listened to many times over - kind of like a Midsommer Murder episode brought to life. This story, however, was really tiresome. Little character development, not much description of the setting and it was not believable. It seemed very repetitive. Yes, she has pink hair...please don't tell me again! I think the narrator is very good, but not a good match for this series. Graeme Malcom is a better fit for this series. I am glad this was not the first book I listened to. .

Historia
It starts with a drunk man killing a boy as he hits him with his car. Thinking no one has seen him, he feels he's off the hook. Until he receives a message telling him that the sender knows what he's done, and unless he pays him a ransom, to be left in a bag at a secluded men's room, he'll squeal. The killer does as instructed, but as he sees a young man leave with said bag, he then kills the young man.
