Do not be surprised if you start using terms such as “follow the energy,” “connectors,” “brokers,” and “empathy” in your everyday language—the teachings in this book will become part of you.

I use all the tools in this book. It is an invaluable resource that changed the way I navigate and roll out small- and large-change initiatives in both my personal and professional lives.

I took Dr.Michael Arena’s class at the University of Pennsylvania 2 years ago and reading this book is the next best thing to actually sitting in his Adaptive Space class, getting his advise, and speaking with him for a fraction of UPenn’s tuition fee. I purchased both the audio book through audible and the actual book from amazon to keep in my home library as a go-to reference. If one has the chance though, nothing beats taking the live class.

I absolutely love this book! Dr. Michael Arena’s Adaptive Space book is an effective “how to” toolkit in effecting sustainable change and will be useful to organizational development novices and experts alike. This book will introduce and teach you how to harness and unleash the power of social networks and relationships, the importance of design thinking and empathy, and provide concrete tips in successfully disrupting one’s own organization from within that creates buy-in and engagement at all levels. You will discover or be reintroduced to innovative companies such as Gore Industries and their lattice network of doing work and get an inside view of how General Motors is changing the mobility business.

I am citing this book in my own capstone research as it truly changed my perspective about how to work, in effect making life richer and more meaningful for me and hopefully those I encounter.

If you are serious about effecting sustainable change, innovating, or want to start your career on a high note, keep this book on hand.

The lessons and tips seem simple but they definitely provide valuable guidance to living a full life. If you feel lost and need your life back, this is a good a step by step. At the end of the day, maximizing the use of the book and getting its benefits is up to the individual.
