The central focus of all these essays is improving the ability to understand the dynamics at play that are impacting their organizations. The purpose is to help organizations and the people within them to be able to realize their individual and collective potential. Many of the essays are titled in the form of a question because if you don’t learn to ask better questions, you will never get the answers you really need.

Actionable, Digestible, and Enjoyable
Revisado: 02-22-22
Jim Rieley has a gift for providing managers and executives tactical and practical advice on how to build organizational capabilities. While the business literature is replete with obtuse tombs on managerial theory, Leadership Lessons Volume 2 cuts through the noise. It lays out in very approachable bite-sized prose what leaders need to really focus on. Most importantly, it helped me view the value of my employees, their capabilities, and their potentials, in a whole new light. It is easy to get mired in the EXCELS and quarterly plans that define the days and nights of the modern corporate leaders. Leadership Lessons reminds readers to pick their head up, engage their teams, and create a culture of shared alignment.

Historia
Among the ashes of a dying world, an agent of the Commandment finds a letter. It reads: Burn before reading. Thus begins an unlikely correspondence between two rival agents hellbent on securing the best possible future for their warring factions. Now, what began as a taunt, a battlefield boast, becomes something more. Something epic. Something romantic. Something that could change the past and the future. Except the discovery of their bond would mean the death of each of them. There’s still a war going on, after all. And someone has to win. That’s how war works, right?

I did not like this book..
Revisado: 02-16-22
It was a cool premise but way too complicated for me. While the story was not to my liking, the product value was very good.

Wonderful history, and incredibly deep. It was very ambitious in its scope, and could probably be split into two or three lecture series, making it even more of a bargain

Oliver Sacks' The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat tells the stories of individuals afflicted with fantastic perceptual and intellectual aberrations: patients who have lost their memories and with them the greater part of their pasts; who are no longer able to recognize people and common objects; who are stricken with violent tics and grimaces or who shout involuntary obscenities; whose limbs have become alien; who have been dismissed as retarded yet are gifted with uncanny artistic or mathematical talents.

Why a bit more in depth, intense that other popular medical books, worth the effort. The vocabulary is a bit daunting at first, but it gets easier and more interesting as it progresses.

Historia
In the fifth century BC, a global superpower was determined to bring truth and order to what it regarded as two terrorist states. The superpower was Persia, incomparably rich in ambition, gold, and men. The terrorist states were Athens and Sparta, eccentric cities in a poor and mountainous backwater: Greece. The story of how their citizens took on the Great King of Persia, and thereby saved not only themselves, but Western civilization as well, is as heart-stopping and fateful as any episode in history.

Historia
At the outbreak of the War of 1812, America's prospects looked dismal. It was clear that the primary battlefield would be the open ocean but America's war fleet, only 20 ships strong, faced a practiced British navy of more than a thousand men-of-war. Still, through a combination of nautical deftness and sheer bravado, the American navy managed to take the fight to the British and turn the tide of the war.

Firstly, to addresss the length question, while a long book, it holds your attention throughout. More importantly, simply one of the best (and most important) pieces of history I have had the pleasure to read.
