Acceptable but not exceptional
Revisado: 11-03-23
The story was fine, not deep but good background while doing menial tasks. There were just a couple things that bothered me. The most irritating is the simple concept that candy canes are not made in an oven. IFKYK. The narrator had older male characters sound like American Indians which probably was not his intention and is not a bad thing when appropriate but I think those characters are African American.

Historia
What really happened to TWA 800? On the 20th anniversary of the crash, author Jack Cashill reveals shocking new evidence. TWA Flight 800 crashed into the Atlantic shortly after takeoff from JFK Airport on July 17, 1996, killing all 230 passengers onboard. Although initial reports suggested a terrorist attack, FBI and NTSB investigators blamed a fuel-tank explosion. But skeptics have long questioned the official story, and new evidence has surfaced that suggests a widespread conspiracy.

Stupid biased story, propaganda at it's most banal
Revisado: 02-04-22
The narrator is really good considering the trash he's being paid to read. The red hat, MAGA, Clinton hating, screed is peppered with dog whistle words and phrases only someone asleep for the past 5 years could miss. Thankfully the book was free. Easily erased and forgotten.

Historia
It took me a lifetime to have the courage and the clarity to write my memoir. I want to tell the story of the moments - the ups and downs, the triumphs and traumas, the debacles and the dreams - that contributed to the person I am today. This book is composed of my memories, my mishaps, my struggles, my survival, and my songs. Unfiltered. I went deep into my childhood and gave the scared little girl inside of me a big voice. I let the abandoned and ambitious adolescent have her say, and the betrayed and triumphant woman I became tell her side.

The spoiled 13 year old who never grew up.
Revisado: 11-04-21
I bought this title (luckily on sale) because excepting her Christmas song I'm not a fan. What little I knew of her from the popular media, chat shows and limited viewing of her performances, I didn't like her. She seems shallow, vapid and totally self absorbed though she had an exceptional voice when she was young. I was hoping that her autobiography would compel me to form a different opinion. It hasn't. MOST ANNOYING IS HER CONSTANT SINGING THROUGHOUT THE BOOK. Her voice is no longer clear and resonate. It is airy and almost whisper thin shouted at full volume. It listens as though she is singing AT the reader and it's distracting as hell. Luckily she's made her fortune and has enough fans who love and accept her as she is. Personally, I can return to avoiding anything to do with her.

Bad luck and misfortune throw everything their way - snakes, earthquakes, black magic and incontinent dogs.

Unexpected and entertaining coming of age story,
Revisado: 09-19-21
This book is a work of fine art. I came to this title by way of the BBC series "The Kennedy's" and after reading "The Tent The Bucket and Me." The calamity continues. I thoroughly enjoyed the performance by the accomplished author herself. I was brought back to memories in my own life of a time, just starting out in life when nothing is certain and possible mishap, failure and ruin is around every corner plus one doesn't have a dime to spare. (By the way Ms. Williams adobe is pronounced A-dough-bee but you've probably heard that 954 times.) If you are ever in Fort Lauderdale look me up. We have a spare bedroom and an extra car.

King as always creates believable characters and gives them interesting things to do and say. The story is engaging and the plot moves at full speed from beginning to end. There are just enough rewards (Easter Eggs) for the committed King reader which I truly appreciated.

Historia
One rainy night, the unthinkable happens: Dylan Moran’s car plunges off the road into a raging river, his beautiful wife drowning as he struggles to shore. In the aftermath, through his grief, Dylan experiences sudden, strange visions: wherever he goes, he’s haunted by glimpses of himself. Dylan initially chalks it up to trauma, but that changes when he runs into a psychiatrist who claims he’s her patient. She says he has been undergoing a unique hypnotherapy treatment built on the idea that with every choice, he creates an infinite number of parallel universes.

Good premise but poorly written, could not finish
Revisado: 06-26-21
One must suspend disbelief to enjoy a fictional story. The plot is so full of holes and the characters are so superficially written that I cannot get through the book it's completely y unbelievable. For one minute example since when so busy hotel event professionals have time to make plans for any given weekend? I can't believe authors can be paid for such amateurish work.

Just as I Am is my truth. It is me, plain and unvarnished, with the glitter and garland set aside. Here, I am indeed Cicely, the actress who has been blessed to grace the stage and screen for six decades. Yet I am also the church girl who once rarely spoke a word. I am the teenager who sought solace in the verses of the old hymn for which this book is named. I am a daughter and mother, a sister, and a friend. I am an observer of human nature and the dreamer of audacious dreams.

An Exceptionally Personal Biography
Revisado: 02-22-21
One feels that it is an honor to hear a life story of such an iconic woman. Her life spans much of the history of the 20th century with its many wars and social tensions and is recounted with clarity and without hyperbole. One also feels lucky to have lived concurrent to the life span of Ms. Tyson whose life and accomplishments will be recalled for generations to come. There is a technical issue in the forward by Viola Davis but the rest of the book is free of that issue. Enjoy!

I could not help falling in love with Ms. Lewis
Revisado: 07-29-20
Here ladies and gentlemen is a story of a remarkable life. Jenifer Lewis a living icon and a brassy charismatic dame of the of the American stage and screen.
I thank Ms. Lewis for her courage in sharing her story. It is presented without filter, straight from her heart. She has lived her life without excuses nor need for anyone's approval or appreciation. Her narration is rich, full on baritone and absolutely beautiful to the ear.
Like many I would dearly love 20 minutes of her time to listen to her speak of her life first hand. Since that is a very remote possibility, this book is a fine substitute.

The "Man" Behind the Brand
Revisado: 07-14-20
One must sort through so much hype and distraction when attempting to get to the truth behind our current president. This book provides a much needed perspective, one from a family member who is brave enough to stand up and fight to tell her story. She and her family were cheated out of millions in inheritance. This is her payback for one of his earliest swindles.
Donald J. Trump is a conman and a fraud. I am confident he will prove to be the greatest single mistake the USA has ever made. He has done damage to our country and the world that will take decades if ever to recover. Those who see beyond his TV image and brand know they truth.
Thank you to Ms. Mary Trump for her bravery in bringing her story into the light of day in spite of her uncle's legal fight to stop her.
