Historia
In this sweeping and insightful history, Henry Kissinger turns for the first time at book length to a country he has known intimately for decades and whose modern relations with the West he helped shape. On China illuminates the inner workings of Chinese diplomacy during such pivotal events as the initial encounters between China and tight line modern European powers, the formation and breakdown of the Sino-Soviet alliance, the Korean War, and Richard Nixon’s historic trip to Beijing.

Historia
After the economic meltdown of 2008, Warren Buffett famously warned, "beware of geeks bearing formulas." But as James Weatherall demonstrates, not all geeks are created equal. While many of the mathematicians and software engineers on Wall Street failed when their abstractions turned ugly in practice, a special breed of physicists has a much deeper history of revolutionizing finance.

The majority of the book is spent talking about various people and what college they attended. You learn very little about the actual physic of Wall Street.

Historia
Just a generation ago this place was called America. Now, after the worldwide implementation of UN-lead program called Agenda 21, it's simply known as the 'Republic'. There is no president. No congress. No Supreme Court. No freedom. There are only the Authorities. Citizens have two primary goals in the new Republic: to create clean energy and to create new human life. Those who cannot do either are of no use to society. This bleak and barren existence is all that 18-year-old Emmeline has ever known.

What a joke!
Revisado: 04-08-16
I pride myself in listening to all side of an argument. That said, this book is a joke. The author criticizes people that are trying to clean up the environment, but offers no solutions... Glenn Beck, must be being bankrolled by the oil companies!! We should call Glenn Beck "agenda 120" because that is what the temperature of the earth could be if he keeps pushing his agenda. No thank you!

Historia
We’ve been told that a vegetarian diet can feed the hungry, honor the animals, and save the planet. Lierre Keith believed in that plant-based diet and spent twenty years as a vegan. But in The Vegetarian Myth, she argues that we’ve been led astray - not by our longings for a just and sustainable world, but by our ignorance. e truth is that agriculture is a relentless assault against the planet, and more of the same won’t save us. In service to annual grains, humans have devastated prairies and forests, driven countless species extinct, altered the climate, and destroyed the topsoil - the basis of life itself....

I enjoyed a different view. That said, there where too many random facts without enough data to really believe all the stories. There was constant bashing of men, which some is deserved but just doesn't match with the theme of the book.

How do you spot an area poised for gentrification? Is spring or winter the best time to put your house on the market? Will a house on Swamp Road sell for less than one on Gingerbread Lane? The fact is that the rules of real estate have changed drastically over the past five years. To understand real estate in our fast-paced, technology-driven world, we need to toss out all of the outdated truisms and embrace today's brand new information. But how?

Historia
As fossil fuel prices rise, oil insecurity deepens, and concerns about climate change cast a shadow over the future of coal, a new energy economy is emerging. Wind, solar, and geothermal energy are replacing oil, coal, and natural gas, at a pace and on a scale we could not have imagined even a year ago. For the first time since the Industrial Revolution, we have begun investing in energy sources that can last forever. Plan B 4.0 explores both the nature of this transition to a new energy economy and how it will affect our daily lives.

Historia
Lee Strobel became convinced that God was outmoded. Today science is supports the conclusion that the universe was intelligently designed. Darwinism has faltered in the face of facts and hard reason. Science definitely gives faith a boost as new findings emerge about the complexity of our universe. Strobel re-examines the theories that once led him away from God. You'll encounter discoveries from cosmology, DNA research, and human consciousness that present evidence in The Case for a Creator.

Interesting book but....
Revisado: 10-07-10
If we are supposed to believe that a creator created us and it couldn???t happen naturally then why are we sitting here watching our universe expand everyday NATURALLY? We are seeing new solar systems and planets created all the time. It amazes me that soo many smart people think that we are sooooo important in the universe. There are 6.7 bln people on the earth, with 77 mln new people being born each year. If each life and action a person takes are soo important to the creator then why would he need sooo many of us? Why would he create dinosaurs and other animals like us (Neanderthal) just to wipe them off the earth???? If he is doing this create / destroy strategy why shouldn't we believe that at some point he will destroy us and replace us with a better version??? We are supposed to go against all this logic due to the fact somebody 2000 years ago said someone talked to them about GOD? Really, in all these years God wants us to do certain things, and he can???t even come down and tell us more to our face more frequently, we have to hear it through ancient made up writing? We are nothing more than SMART ANTS I say!!
