Thought Provoking Complex Characters
Revisado: 03-09-25
The storyline is interesting and the complex, deep characterss drive the plot in a most personable manner.
Religion, human vulnerabilities, and clever read herrings culminate in what surprised me. One of those, oh I should have guessed but didn't.
A most worthwhile book. Highly recommended.

Clever Surprises and Endearing Characters
Revisado: 10-08-24
The Midnight Man is a thrilling murder mystery. It builds to an intense crescendo. That being said it is also a fabulous historical and women's fiction.
Set in post WWII England as the country shifted from Winston Churchill's Conservative Party to Clement Attlee's Labour Party. The character's story lines are beautifully woven into the shifts of society in that era.
The female characters are deep and varied. From a variety of socio-economic backgrounds which the narrator captures with nuances and various accents.
I enjoyed the audible so much that I plan to read the hard copy.
The male characters are believable and prominent when needed, those are also from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds.
I read another book by this author and her research into lesser known historical settings in London, England is vast and fascinating. She piques my curiosity in such an entertaining manner. A highly recommended novel.

Thrilling International Espionage Served With Great Food
Revisado: 09-17-24
There is so much to like about this book. The fast paced plot travels at magical speeds, with clever and surprising twists and turns.
The chemistry of the main characters Sebastian and Cammie is welcome and perfectly timed, as it delivers a personable feel.
The settings, the food and the villainns are all masterfully crafted secondary characters.
Both the book and the audible are brilliant. The added bonus of the author narrating the audible is priceless.
Be warned, don't read it hungry, the food descriptions are so perfect your mouth will water.

Loved It, not for everyone. Potentially Triggering
Revisado: 03-22-23
Quirky, wild, surprisingly deep. through laughter, tears and often shocking scenesh Reincarnation Blues conveys powerful truths.
The characters are as diverse and unique as can be, and yet often offer familiarity and become relatable.
The many lives of Milo and his twin flame, a soul that was once previously Death itself weave a wild pattern of pasts and futures. Not always human, not always on planet Earth.
I read reviews where the authors use of pejorative, racial terms were used, I worried that would come across as too inappropriate. To me it felt like the way such terms were horribly used in eras like the 1930s and 1940s in places colonized by brute force and to convey how wrong any form of oppression is and always has been.
There are some very heavy scenes which could be potentially triggering for victims of abuse and any type of trauma. Reincarnation Blues, pretty much covers it all in a unique, masterfully woven storyline.
