GW has officially lost its way
Revisado: 01-11-24
So I do not play on the table top and have only been exposed to the novels. I have well over 200 novels. I have been seeing a very big shift in the story/stories from around the universe. No longer cares about writing a good story, and it shows. Good authors are still writing good stories, but there is no longer a narrative for them to follow. Whatever gets you to buy the next book or the next models is there only Want or desire. This book was not bad, but it was not following the story about Dawn of fire the series. We have gotten to this point that they are just making books tricking the readers into thinking that it is part of the series, but it’s just another fluff book. I find it funny how this book and rogue trader simultaneously come out. This book is a glorified chaos space mystery that suffers from the same cyclic story arc GW books suffer from. We start in one place and we end right in that same place. They’re on the ship, they haven’t gone anywhere, the story hasn’t progressed, nothing happens, but chaos swoop in with zero planning, or background to get what they need. It is ruining everything about thisnarrative.

Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

The Ultramarines are the epitome of a Space Marine Chapter. Warriors without peer, their name is a byword for discipline and honour, and their heroic deeds are legendary. Newly reinstated as Captain of the Ultramarines Fourth Company, Uriel Ventris leads his warriors in battle once again on the world of Pavonis, now a target of invasion by the upstart T'au Empire. With the eyes of the Chapter upon him, Uriel must win this war by following completely the wisdom of the Codex Astartes, lest he be exiled once more.

Awesome
Revisado: 06-27-23
Listen if you love space marines and that’s good enough this novel awesome. If you are looking for the next dune than this isn’t for you. I was in the army and all things bolter is good enough. I have yet to read a space marine heavy novel I didn’t like. Pacing is a bit different not bad but different. There is 3 points in the story that could of been trimmed down they are a little fat. Who cares, it’s bolters, armor, swords and chain weaponry, and the emperors wrath

The walls have fallen, the gates are breached, and the defenders are slain. It is the end and the death. After seven brutal years of civil war, the Warmaster stands on the verge of victory. Horus Lupercal, once beloved son, has come to murder his father. The Emperor, a shining beacon of hope to many, an unscrupulous tyrant to others, must die. The lives of uncountable numbers have been extinguished and even primarchs, once thought immortal, have been laid low. The Emperor's dream lies in tatters, but there remains a sliver of hope.

Look a lot of people don’t like what is happening to 30 and 40 k. We have seen a turning point from setting to storyline. GW has signed authors to long term contracts and they are in charge of cleaning up this timeline. The people who have been in it from the beginning want books to represent the campaigns for the tabletop. But, we have a seen a massive influx of new people who are in it for the lore and books. I am one of them, and I have amassed over 140 books. I am proud to see the storyline start tying into what’s going on in 40k. The bell has toll and now the next hour begins.

Beginning to end a fast pace thriller. Reminded me of the older Clancy novels but in the 40K. You won’t be disappointed and a lovely change from the awful space marine books being written.

WOW
Revisado: 09-09-22
Greatest siege and 40k of all time maybe. I dunno, I am partial having served in the army. I love all things space marines but blood angels are front and center. The first flesh tearer is on another plane of battle and the angel gets his due. The blood angels cement there claim as the greatest legion. None can stand against them, those who do face the rage.

Not what you think but great
Revisado: 07-24-22
Let me first be very specific. A story is not directly about Valdor rather indirectly. Like games workshop seems to always do by writing a title and having the story be something else. We learn hear that it is not directly a story about Valdor and his beginning but rather a story about his shaping. This book takes place during the pre-imperium and right at the start of. Set honest expectations with this book meeting that you are going to have to interpret a lot of situations by reading between the lines. He is not the great champion yet but rather still finding his way. This is the only time that we have seen a custodian talk at such lengths. We see his doubts, his learning and grooming toward what makes him so unique to the custodians. I am not going to spoil it but there is a lot and I mean a lot of little tidbits that are very important clues to what is happening now. If you are really good and understand the setting. You will find that this book has revealed some character points about what he may be up to you currently. We get so see what makes Valdor click in this story.

A masterpiece of titan combat
Revisado: 06-02-22
This is a must read for post heresy titan combat. The story feels and reads like a heresy legio on legio but with current narratives mixed in. We see data from the schism of mars rear its ugly head during the climatic battle of the story. This books has the twists and turns of a classic Tom Clancy spy thriller but set in the far future of darkness and despair. You will not be disappointed, the pacing is perfect and while parts may lack the immersive detail 30k and 40k us know for. I promise that these are few and far. Buckle up for a fast pace mechanicus vs dark mechanicus titan combat. The only downside to this book is that there is ZERO, yes ZERO background given about the traitors.
