Historia
Six kids ranging from suburban geeks to street-smart pariahs. A British captain who rarely talks and never smiles. All on the 70-foot pilothouse ketch Crosscurrent Voyager, bound on a senior summer cruise to adventure and serious fun. Except most of the kids don’t get along. And they’ll be gone all summer. And none of them have sailed before. And worst of all - because they booked at the last minute - they got the destination nobody else wanted: the frigid and remote South Georgia Islands.

Historia
Is the Bible, the most influential book in world history, still relevant? Why do people dismiss it as being irrelevant, irrational, immoral, or all of these things? This explanation of the Book of Deuteronomy, the fifth book of the Bible, will demonstrate how it remains profoundly relevant - both to the great issues of our day and to each individual life. Do you doubt the existence of God because you think believing in God is irrational? This book will cause you to reexamine your doubts.

Rationale highlights morality
Revisado: 06-08-24
For as difficult as it can be for the lay person to read through the Bible this series has served me three fold. The first is giving a read through so that it is easier to take in. The essays, explanations of translations, and other commentaries have helped me understand each book in the series much more than when I read them from my Bible.
The best part of this book to me was the expansion of my understanding of the morality in the Bible. The stories and laws are very forward thinking and promote justice for women, the liberty of slaves, the kindness to the stranger, protecting children....
No other text in history before them gave such protections as the Old Testament. This rational take on the books of the Bible highlight the mercy of God in the Old Testament which is often missed by western society.

Historia
An international conspiracy among powerful bankers, business leaders, and government officials; closed-door meetings in the Swiss Alps; and calls for a radical transformation of every society on earth - the Great Reset sounds like it is one henchman-with-an-eyepatch away from being the plot for the next James Bond movie. But The Great Reset is not a work of fiction. It is a highly influential movement among the world’s elite to “reset” the global economy using banks, government programs, and environmental, social, and governance metrics.

If you're looking for the reasons for the chaos of the past decades give this book a try. The count of resources is around 300. It would have been nice to have those reasons in an accompanying pdf like other authors have. Then the advertising of the physical copy wouldn't have been needed. Though, it could be that physical is preferred by the author as it's more difficult to delete. Either way, plant a garden. Get to know your local farmers. Get involved in knowing who is running for office. Use local banks. Make sure you support those locally. That they do not support ESGs or other discriminatory practices that requires a social credit score, monitoring every transaction, and full control of money. Your ability to use your money should not be as fragile as who's in office and their ego.

Historia
Rich Dad Poor Dad is Robert's story of growing up with two dads - his real father and the father of his best friend, his rich dad - and the ways in which both men shaped his thoughts about money and investing. The book explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich and explains the difference between working for money and having your money work for you. In the 20th anniversary edition of this classic, Robert offers an update on what we’ve seen over the past 20 years related to money, investing, and the global economy.

Historia
In Arguing with Socialists, New York Times best-selling author Glenn Beck arms listeners to the teeth with information necessary to debunk the socialist arguments that have once again become popular, and proves that the free market is the only way to go. With his trademark humor, Beck lampoons the resurgence of this bankrupt leftist philosophy with thousands of stories, facts, and arguments for anyone who is willing to ask the hard questions.

A conversation (real or faked) to cover both sides
Revisado: 12-22-21
In this book Glenn Beck tries to highlight what people who support socialism say and what they think about socialism. There is humor throughout with it being differentiated by Glenn read the author's notes and "A.D.D. moments".
My only critique is that there's not an included pdf of his sources with this audio book. It's not common but once I saw it done by Ben Shapiro I appreciate the ability to look up the sources. Glenn routinely says on his show and multiple times in this book to not take his word for it and to do your own research. Such a document would be greatly helpful and appreciated in that regard.

Like it was told in a story of one's youth
Revisado: 12-02-21
The author does a great job of writing from the point of view of a woman's childhood during the Great Depression. Little cues clues the reader on what's going on outside of that small town but otherwise it could have been any early 20th century community. The performance by the voice actress was a great fit for this story. I'm not sure if that's the same draw as a woman from Alabama but it fit real close to the accent of the Alabama boys I met in the military. The way Ms. Spacek read this book and the way Ms. Lee wrote it made listening to this book seem like I was sipping lemonade listening to an old story on a warm afternoon.
I had heard of different books my friends in high school were reading in class but my classes never covered many of them. Some 20 years later and now this one is checked off the list.

According to the establishment media, the intelligentsia, and our political chattering class, the greatest threat to American freedom lies in right-wing authoritarianism. We’ve heard that some 75 million Americans who voted for Donald Trump represent the rise of American fascism; that conservatives have allowed authoritarianism to bloom in their midst, creating a grave danger for the republic.

Historia
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

The author reads this like your uncool mom reading WAP lyrics. It comes off forced especially the urban lingo she picked up from the youths. It's basically a female Trump reading This is America to get votes from POCs. Find help without supporting such nonsense.
