Historia
Meet Harry, aspiring tech entrepreneur. He’s a would-be Steve Jobs trapped in a cubicle gig at an angel investor firm, so close and yet so far from his dreams. His marriage is foundering, his career is stalled out, and all he wants is to create an app like Uber, or Tinder, something to make real change in the world, and change his own life forever. Now meet Peter, a deeply troubled computer genius who lives in a basement apartment, chugging red wine, nursing old grudges and writing code. When Harry meets Peter, it’s both of their lives that will change, when they invent an app for murder.

brilliant weaving of the human story
Revisado: 01-07-24
As usual, Bryce Courtnay wove the ACTUAL story line (one of human connection) into the title story of a cat....I love everything he writes and can't tell you if this is one of his better books or not since every one leaves me ...for a week or two... wishing it hadn't ended. I'm still in that mode. great book. my favorite narrator, too.

good, as expected. lits of sex details.
Revisado: 06-19-22
I love the development of the characters and the cultural and historic details that are built into all of courtnay's books. and anything with this narrator. this one had lots of sexual details that I got sick of hearing about. but, still....I can't help but love everything with this pair of author/narrator.

a really helpful way to organize biblical content
Revisado: 04-25-22
it was so good to read the stories i'm familiar with with a narrative that wove them into a story and with the context of a chronological timeline.
but...I didn't really like the narration. sometimes, I thought the semi-yelling and exclamations that were so frequent to express dialog were out of place and, unfortunately caused many of the characters (whose dialog was all treated similarly) blend together instead of differentiating them.
I still loved the organization and the story... though familiar held my attention from start to finish.

sweet, tragic, poignant, gasp-inducing
Revisado: 10-19-20
With home read them. The books that make you sad when they finish. But when I finished this book, I listened to the acknowledgements at the end. You can tell that the author puts a lot of himself into the characters in the story. He sounds like one of the characters in the story as his humility and gratitude and appreciation of people w/their quirks and goods and bads is revealed. Loved this complex and historical story. Loved the narrator and the humor as the narrator recalled the characters' turn off phrase or accent. Beautiful.
