Historia
Most organizations and individuals work in the context of annual goals and plans; a 12-month execution cycle. Instead, The 12 Week Year avoids the pitfalls and low productivity of annualized thinking. This book redefines your "year" to be 12 weeks long. In 12 weeks, there just isn't enough time to get complacent, and urgency increases and intensifies. The 12 Week Year creates focus and clarity on what matters most and a sense of urgency to do it now. In the end more of the important stuff gets done and the impact on results is profound.

I couldn’t get past the dull narration
Revisado: 12-29-24
This is probably a great process to follow. However the narrator was painfully dull. I listened to the entire audiobook; but took away very little as the monotone voice caused my mind to wonder away too often. I may try a hard copy of the book.

Historia
After decades of research, world-renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol S. Dweck discovered a simple but groundbreaking idea: the power of mindset. In this brilliant book, she describes how success in school, work, sports, the arts, and almost every area of human endeavor can be dramatically influenced by how we think about our talents and abilities. In this edition, Dweck offers new insights into her now famous and broadly embraced concept. She introduces a phenomenon she calls false growth mindset and guides people toward adopting a deeper, truer growth mindset.

Good book, but fell short
Revisado: 08-28-22
I loved all the examples of situations that explained why the growth mindset is better than a fixed mindset. However, I felt like the book spent 90% of the time telling you why it was better to have a growth mindset but almost no help in how to change your mindset. Still glad I read (listened to) it

Emotional Eating

Historia
The psychological impact of intuitive eating is powerful, as it aims to remove the barriers of foods you eat versus foods you are not permitted to have and puts the decision making in your mind and body. You eat what you feel and when those forbidden foods are readily available, the cravings for them may not be as strong as they once were, when they were “off the table.”

Just overall terrible
Revisado: 10-26-21
Not only is the narrator completely boring and monotone… But the book itself shames people for emotional eating instead of helping solve the issue. Calls overweight people lazy. Don’t waste your money.

Historia
While the world seems to be in love with the idea of tiny houses and minimalism, many of us simply can't purge it all and start from nothing. Yet a home with too much stuff is difficult to maintain, so where do we begin? Add in paralyzing emotional attachments and constant life challenges, and it can feel almost impossible to make real decluttering progress.

Everything I wanted Marie Kondo’s book to be and more!
Revisado: 01-29-19
I am not sure I will be able to express the magnitude in which the book has impacted my life!
It opened my eyes to how much irrelevant clutter I had in my home and gave me the permission to get rid of it!
The book explains in very rational ways why and how I should be getting rid of clutter. Piles in corners, the stacks of paper, the boxes that I haven’t opened in 10 years… All taking up space in my home.
In addition, the author was extremely easy to listen to. Many non-fiction books can be difficult to listen to in audio form. She made me feel like we were having a conversation and like she was speaking directly to me. One of the best narrators I have listen to in this app.
Everyone should read/listen to this book!

May be better to read as a hardcopy.
Revisado: 01-25-19
I am a believer in audiobooks for sure: fiction and nonfiction as well as productivity books. However, I found this book particularly difficult to follow via audio. I am not sure if it was the content itself, or if it was just something that would have been better to read as a hardcopy book.
