Well written but boring

Well crafted sentences but surprisingly slow-paced stories about a privileged white guy’s life in Massachusetts & Maine. Amusing at times but not memorably funny or narratively gripping. Surprised there’s still a market in publishing for a book like this. Not especially interesting or relatable, and few new insights over otherwise well-trodden ground. Don’t bother.

Beautifully performed

Among Shakespeare’s best plays, at least top 5 in my view, and here with a masterful performance by McKellen as Prospero. An excellent selection.

Wonderful performance - except Lear

The play of course is marvelous, and the cast was quite good - especially the actress who played Regan - but Ron Altman as Lear was disappointing. His delivery of Lear's lines bordered at times on annoying.... he lacked a certain inhabitance of King Lear, did not hit the right notes, in my view.
