Historia
Inspired by her popular New York Times article, "How Honesty Could Make You Happier", award-winning journalist Judi Ketteler takes a deep dive into the hard truths about honesty, from her own personal story to the exploding field of research on the subject, at a time when the world seems full of dishonesty - from elected officials, to corporate leaders, to tabloid-like fakery that gets passed off as news.

......and queue the political comments
Revisado: 02-10-23
publishers keep encouraging people to just write whatever these days.
I got this one free thank God. pretty harmless yet pointless until she goes political. comments that already have not aged well about Trump. I am not at all political but after reading her diatribe about Trump being dishonest, all proven wrong, it seems. But the current president's dishonesty is unprecedented.
credibility lost. stopped reading . still cringing.

Historia
We live in a world obsessed with drinking. We drink at baby showers and work events, brunch and book club, graduations and funerals. Yet no one ever questions alcohol’s ubiquity—in fact, the only thing ever questioned is why someone doesn’t drink. It is a qualifier for belonging and if you don’t imbibe, you are considered an anomaly. As a society, we are obsessed with health and wellness, yet we uphold alcohol as some kind of magic elixir, though it is anything but.

Politics? Really?
Revisado: 09-08-22
I tried twice to read this book.
The last place I want to hear is identity politics is while reading a book on health.
Oh and drinking is a femininist issue, too it seems.
Heck, I'm going to take up drinking again and blame it on being wronged by WHITE Men.
I overlooked some pretty sketchy science, but the political diatribes, of which there were many and long-winded.

Historia
The MANipulator manual. Keep your man interested and begging for more without playing games. So many women get in trouble in their love lives, and 99.9 percent of that trouble could have been avoided if they'd said "Well, f**k him!" a bit more often. Too many women are way too nice and compliant to their men, especially when these men don't deserve that kind of treatment. I, as a dating coach and author of books for women who want to get men, cannot take it anymore.

The thinking woman's guide to The Rules.
Revisado: 03-04-20
If you read The Rules, you'll recognize a lot of the advice in this book. The difference is that it's a lot less corny and much more practical.
It was a nice refresher for what NOT to do.
The gets himself in hot water with the new age Social Justice Warriors when he compares men to three year-olds but it's pretty darn true when it comes to emotional intelligence (my new favorite term).
Coming from a man, the Content is a lot more credible than the Rules girls.
All in all, a great book for any woman or teenager.

Historia
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge.

Hard work
Revisado: 09-28-16
Suspenseful yes, but for this reader it was almost too much so. Too many disappointments I suppose? Very long story, well-written and certainly well-narrated.
