Vivek is a very bright and common sense individual. He is candid and honest with his comments even if they may go against the norm. I found the book to be interesting and factual with the hope that Vivek will play a greater role in politics or society in the future.

Tulsi’s Honesty

I have a lot of respect for Tulsi in making a courageous decision to follow her values rather than be associated with a political party that has become corrupt with power,
Tulsi’s truths and message cannot be dismissed in understanding the impact unlimited political power can have on the culture and morality of our country.

Extremely interesting to understand Elon Musk and all of his faults as well as his positive risk taking attribute. A rather complex person who is wired differently than many of us. However this is the type of untraditional person who can see the big picture and achieve results that others cannot.

Political Candor

I have read about prior administrations and it is always interesting to understand how they operate in no some cases differently behind the scenes.

The word empathy was used early in the book, which I think reflect the author’s approach. There were several significant topics like Kamala and the border that were glossed rather than doing a deeper dive by providing more information. The border is a mess!! This also pertains to Afghanistan which was a chaotic disaster with very little planning - actually it was shameful how it was handled. Then there was Ukraine which instead of giving Joe praise for how he handled it. I would questioned how did he let it occur with all the advance knowledge he had about it happening.

I am not a politician and I know much goes behind the scenes when making decisions. Unfortunately the more I read the more I am disappointed and feel that America as they say is in decline. We need to hold both parties accountable for their actions.

Overall thoughts

Although the author discusses very relevant and current topics facing both political parties (thank you). He tends to personalize and at times wander in discussing these topics never really addressing concretely why people could support trump. In the end he mentions throughout the book he was critical about the party of Lincoln which was very apparent. I believe there is much criticism to be given to both parties and the media is not fair and balance even though the author made it clear in does not see it that way with CNN, With that said, I think the book should be titled - Why Reasonable People Should Not Support Trump or the Republican Party.

There is much wrong with our political system on both sides, and we cannot be blinded by the fact that one is better than the other.

Again there were many good topics discussed, unfortunately they were targeting at one party.

Extremely interesting and well presented. Although many know of Abraham Lincoln this sheds a new light on his courage & bravery as he faced a divided nation placing moral correctness above politics.
