Historia
The End as We Know It is an occult horror fiction novel about a Lovecraftian apocalypse. We don't explain ourselves to ants and the gods like them more than they do us. We don't explain how the pesticides work nor why we're using them. So when a group of Christian camp counselors are "Left Behind" they must find sanity and hope on their own in an apocalypse that not even H.P. Lovecraft could imagine.

The clash of religion vs reality
Revisado: 02-28-25
I really like the concept here. The Lovecraftian mythos and modern religion clashing together. My only dislike is I felt we spent too much time with the characters in the beginning but I get why

Historia
Three low-income families have been given a handsome retainer to join Geraldine Borden for a day at her cliffside estate. All the parents must do to collect the rest of their money is allow their children to test out the revolutionary playground equipment Geraldine has been working on for decades. But there’s a reason the structures in the bowels of her gothic castle have taken so long to develop—they were never meant to see the light of day.

Historia
Okiku wants vengeance...and she gets it. Whenever there's a monster hurting a child - the same way she was hurt 300 years ago in Japan - her spirit is there to deliver punishment. But one American boy draws her like no other. The two are pulled into a world of eerie doll rituals and dark Shinto exorcisms that will take them from the American Midwest to the remote valleys and shrines of Aomori, Japan. The boy is not a monster, but something evil writhes beneath his skin, trapped by a series of intricate tattoos.

Some meh.
Revisado: 10-14-22
Not sure if it was supposed to be written this way due to who's "telling the story", but this book was so emotionless and bland the "scary/intense" scenes were just meh. I did like the Japanese folklore though.

Not touching another Hendrix novel
Revisado: 12-12-21
It was so hard to root for anyone in this story. The only good parts where the commercials really because the main narrator was so monotone even during intense scenes. Loved your novel 'We Sold Our Souls' but this my last book from you dude. Overall just bland, even though I came in thinking it was relatable working in retail.

Historia
It was no secret that journalist Jack Sparks had been researching the occult for his new book. No stranger to controversy, he'd already triggered a furious Twitter storm by mocking an exorcism he witnessed. Then there was that video: 40 seconds of chilling footage that Jack repeatedly claimed was not of his making, yet it was posted from his own YouTube account. Nobody knew what happened to Jack in the days that followed - until now.

Pretty Good and different from what I'm used to.
Revisado: 10-02-21
Loved the narrator and how the story calls back to itself. Very well rounded and didnt try to use gore and sex to sell the story.
