Historia
Remember when people were told by the news in the 80s that there were Satanic cults everywhere? That's OK if you don't. Kristopher Irizarry-Hoeksema (aka Gato Toninas) does. When his adoptive mother, (aka Police Station Polly of 2020 viral Karen fame), became a born-again Christian, he was dragged into the heart of the Satanic Panic which was driving the growing Christian evangelical movement. With the Satanic Panic Survivor, listeners not only revisit the OG Satanic Panic of the 1980s, the emergent Satanic Panic is also scrutinized. Besides taking an in-depth look at the 1980s Satanic ...

Biased!
Revisado: 10-25-23
Listened to some and he seems angry and biased against any view that may have a religious leaning. I was hoping for more historical information not condescension.

Historia
Shortly after reaching maturity, Scarlett finds her mate, only to face a painful rejection that threatened to cut her life short. No one told Scarlett reaching maturity would hurt this much, but she came out the other end stronger, braver, smarter, and a little less naïve. Seeking to pick up the torn pieces, she leaves her pack for a town well away from her home, far away from her ex-mate who just can't let her go even after claiming someone else.

Needs multiple Narrators!
Revisado: 02-15-22
I liked the story but was very difficult to follow with only one narrator. It needed more male voices.

When author Jeff Hobbs arrived at Yale University, he became fast friends with the man who would be his college roommate for four years, Robert Peace. Robert's life was rough from the beginning in the crime-ridden streets of Newark in the 1980s, with his father in jail and his mother earning less than $15,000 a year. But Robert was a brilliant student, and it was supposed to get easier when he was accepted to Yale, where he studied molecular biochemistry and biophysics.

We'll Written!
Revisado: 10-02-19
Such a tragic true story but very well written and narrated. the writer did a great job of telling the story of Sean Peace that was not covered in newsprint. Although I knew where the story was leading I was compelled to finish and learn how such a promising young spirit I could come to such a tragic end.

Historia
Charged follows the story of two young people caught up in the criminal justice system: Kevin, a 20-year-old in Brooklyn who picked up his friend’s gun as the cops burst in and was charged with a serious violent felony, and Noura, a teenage girl in Memphis indicted for the murder of her mother. Bazelon tracks both cases - from arrest and charging to trial and sentencing - and with her trademark blend of deeply reported narrative, legal analysis, and investigative journalism illustrates just how criminal prosecutions can go wrong and, more important, why they don’t have to.

Eyes Wide Opened
Revisado: 05-13-19
Opened my eyes to what I already suspected but was unsure about, concerning the state of our court, bail, and prison systems. I believe we have to strike a balance between law and order and rights for the accused. Also limits to the power of prosecutors.

straight forward project management
Revisado: 08-02-15
I've been a project manager for over 8 years and I seem to have lost some of the basics along the way. this book did an excellent job of reviewing those essential things that a project or program manager should know and practice. I especially like the section on getting your life back.
