Romeo had high hopes of flourishing from his illegal but prosperous business. He never bargained for falling in love unexpectedly along the way. Shayla was everything he was not; the total opposite of hard-edged and callous. And while Romeo was the bad boy her mama had warned her about, she still loved him despite his many flaws. All odds were stacked against them, especially considering their blatant differences.

Good storyline, but narrator needs reading lessons

This seems like it could have been a good listen based on the few chapters I could tolerate before the narrator’s lack of reading skills grated on my nerves too much. The narration sounds like it’s being read by a teen with a 3rd grade reading level. Too many extensive pauses in the wrong places, too many incidents of the narrator having to reread sections of too many of the passages to maintain the readers’ interest. Will make a point of NOT downloading books narrated by Cee Scott.
