Historia
All he’s asking for is her soul. After buying the antebellum home she’s fantasized about since childhood, Anna Worthington discovers Luc, a dangerously seductive incubus who has been trapped in the house by a 50-year-old curse. To rid herself of her problem house guest, she’ll call on a priest, gypsies, ghost hunters, and the coven of witches from lust-bunny hell. All she has to do is resist him long enough to break the spell, so they can go their separate ways. If she doesn’t, she could die. And that would be the best-case scenario.

Fun PNR story
Revisado: 07-08-21
SaveMy Soul is the second book in this series, but it is really the fourth story. Book one is really three novellas in one book. This book doesn’t tie in with book one nearly as tight as the three novellas tie together. This book can be read as a stand alone. Really the location and one side character are really the only crossover. Book one does tie in with book three and four. It is a great read, so I would try it if you get a chance, but could also be done out of order with this one.
This book starts off with Anna moving back to the small town in Georgia that she grew up in after her father dies and she inherits all his money, which is lots. Before that, she was working in Atlanta because he had cut her off from his money. When she comes back, she finds a house that she always loved as a child is on the market. She decides to buy it even though, it is said to be haunted. It doesn’t take long for her to learn exactly how haunted the house actually is.
Luc is a demon, an incubus to be exact. He has been trapped in this house for about fifty years when a witch that he fell in love with cursed him. As an incubus, he is not able to have sex with the same women too many times in a row, or he will kill them by feeding too much. Luc’s witch was very jealous of him sleeping with other women (let’s face, I would be too), so she traps him in the house where he is not able to leave. The problem with that, is that he eventually gets so “hungry” that he drains her to death. Now he is trapped in the house without a way to escape. His brother, Cain (yes, that Cain), brings women to the house each night, so that Luc has something to feed from.
Luc doesn’t show himself to Anna for a long time. He “haunts” the house trying to scare her away, to no avail. She hears moaning and thinks is the ghost, when it is really Luc with the girls his brother has been delivering to him. When Anna comes home from a date, that she despised, and said date is overly forceful with her, Luc comes to her rescue and finally shows himself to her. He explains his issue. Cain makes an appearance and tries to force the two together by refusing to bring more food for Luc. Anna’s solution, she gets him a “harem” of prostitutes. This causes tons of jealousy, and why wouldn’t it, but Anna doesn’t know what else to do. At this point, she has yet to sleep with Luc.
There are some humorous sections, but not the level of snark that I’m used to from the likes of Molly Harper or Darynda Jones. It is a much more subtle and quirky humor, but still good and adds to the story. The story is passionate and heartbreaking to read at times. You feel sorry for both main characters as they try to figure out this almost impossible situation they are in.

Three Stories for the Price of One
Revisado: 01-14-14
This book is a compilation of three PNR novellas all by Zoe Winters. The characters do intersect and there is overlap, as you expect in a PNR series. Whether you listen or read this story, you get three romances for the price of one.
Kept is the first novella. It consists of Greta who is a cat therian (another word for shifter), and Dayne, a sorcerer with a very bad reputation. Greta is sentenced to be a sacrifice. Her mother, who is refusing to save her, but helps her to escape and sends her to Dayne for help. Dayne is in a bind because he needs therian blood to go after the head of cat shifter clain, but can't get it from his normal online source. When Greta shows up to his door, Dayne agrees to protect her until the full moon. There are several hilarious moments between the two. There is also many misunderstandings between the two.
Claimed is the second novella in this book. It contains the story between Anthony, a vampire running to be king vampire for the next century, and Charlotte (Charlee) a human friend of Greta. In a drug induced blood lust, Anthony drinks from Charlee and then attempts to wipe her memories, but completely erases her entire memories of herself. Anthony is forced to care for her while trying to win the tournament, to keep it from Lucas who is evil.
Mated is the last story in this book. We meet Jane in Claimed when she is trying to stay alive in the vampire world. She has been able to see vampires for what they really are, which is part demon, since she was a child. Vampires don't like that much. They are also not able to control her mind, like they can with normal humans. Jane is given to the alpha werewolf, Cole, as payment for a debt. We learn a lot about Jane's past, which is truly horrific.
This is a great PNR series. I can't wait to read more. I would highly recommend this series to people who like PNR stories. The sex does exist in these stories, but not to the graphic detail as in many other PNR stories. I don't this this subtracts from the story in anyway.
I listened to this story after reading it. I have to say, it was done well and I enjoyed going back and revisiting the characters. I think the narration is great. He does a great job with not only the different male characters, but the female as well.

Great ending to trilogy. I wish there was more!
Revisado: 12-18-13
This is book three in a trilogy suspense series that Kelley Armstrong has been working on for a while, book one was published in 2007. The main character, Nadia Stafford, is a former cop who went rogue and killed an unarmed suspect. When she is forced to leave law enforcement, she buys a wilderness lodge in Ontario. It eventually falls on hard times, she takes a job as a hit man to help pay the bills. Throughout the series we spend time with her hitman mentor, Jack, his mentor, Evelyn, and a US Marshall, who is also a part-time hit man Quinn.
At the beginning of this book, Quinn and Nadia have just ended an attempt at a relationship, or at least Nadia considers it ended. Quinn isn’t quite as sure. Jack contacts Nadia because he has found the person believed to have killed Nadia’s cousin, Amy, when she was a teenager. Nadia had also been kidnapped at the same time. She barely escaped with her life, but when she sent her cop father back to cabin, Amy was already dead and the suspect was gone. They do eventually catch him, and there is a trial. But he is acquitted. When Jack finds this killer, someone has already killed him before they get there. They do find his journal and Nadia has to come to some hard truths about her past.
It takes Nadia, Jack, Quinn and Evelyn a long time and many dead ends before they finally figure out who was the killer. There are many twists and turns and you will keep guessing until the end. I was surprised with many of the things that are uncovered in throughout the story. I don’t want to give any parts away, so I won’t go into much more of the plot. Just know that you don’t get from point A to point B in a straight line.
Although, this series isn’t really a romance or a paranormal, which is what I normally read, it is a great series and I recommend it. I probably wouldn’t have tried it if it was a different author, but I’m a huge fan of Kelley Armstrong and thought I would give it a try. I’m really glad that I did. I really like Nadia and Jack, especially. Evelyn is pretty funny too. There is a ton of action with a great story, which you’ve come to expect from Ms. Armstrong.
This is the first of the trilogy that I’ve done on audio. At this time, book one is been published on audio, but I don’t think book two is out yet. I’m sure it will be, but just isn’t done yet. I enjoyed it on audio. Jack has a gruff Irish brogue that I enjoyed. Nadia is Canadian and you could hear the accent on occasion. The rest of the voices were pretty normal, but were distinct and done well.

While this isn't my favorite book in this series, it is still a great one. Both Kresley Cole and Robert Petkoff kick it out of the park. He does such a great job with a wide variety of accents in both male and female voices. There is a ton of Nix which always makes things more interesting.

"Glock, paper, scissors. I win."
Revisado: 12-12-13
4.5 stars. This series has really started to grow on me. I’m loving the narration and listening to Ty and Zan through Sean Crisden’s voice. I’m very disappointed that, at time time, book six and seven have not been done in audio yet. I thought it was very well done. I love this series enough to go back to just reading, and hope that the audio will come soon.
I really like Julian and Cameron. Julian is a former CIA agent that Ty and Zane are being asked to bring in to the FBI for questioning. Cameron is his lover. They are both great characters and really help to make the story one of my favorites of this series. All four of them, Julian, Cameron, Ty and Zane all work off each other in this book to keep things very interesting.
There is a great twist at the end that is not expected. We don’t know who the real villain is until the author wants you to know. It really kept the suspense going.
Favorite quote: “Glock, paper, scissors. I win.” ~ Ty.
I love that Julian has two cats named Smith and Wesson. They are very large cats and hate most people, but they took a liking to Ty. Even Cameron can't pick them up, but they snuggle up to Ty like they're kittens.
If you enjoy cop style suspense novels with some romance to them, then you should give this series a try. Even if you’ve never read a m/m romance before, you should still give this a try. I hope that isn’t what is keeping you from reading this series. It is a great suspense cop style story that just happens to have two male leads that are lovers.
Best book in the series so far, though Stick & Stones was a closed second for me. I wish the next two books were available in audio. Not sure why they stopped the audios are wonderful, or at least books three, four and five were. I didn't like the narrator for books one and two.

Historia
Mercenary Kate Daniels and her mate, Curran, the Beast Lord, are struggling to solve a heartbreaking crisis. Unable to control their beasts, many of the Pack’s shape-shifting children fail to survive to adulthood. While there is a medicine that can help, the secret to its making is closely guarded by the European packs, and there’s little available in Atlanta. Kate can’t bear to watch innocents suffer, but the solution she and Curran have found threatens to be even more painful. The European shape-shifters who once outmaneuvered the Beast Lord have asked him to arbitrate a dispute - and they’ll pay him in medicine.

Can't get enough of this series.
Revisado: 11-19-13
This is one of my favorite Urban Fantasy series on the market today. Kate is a kick-ass heroineand Curran is an even more of a badass hero. In this book, we have Kate and Curran traveling out of Atlanta to the edges of the Black Sea to mediate between three packs over the birthing of a set of twins (each twin has a different father from a different pack). They bring a large group from the Atlanta Pack with them, including Derek, Andrea, Raphael, Mahon, Doolittle and others who we just meet for the first time along with some other great favorites (I didn’t want to give even small spoilers here). Saiman is even brought along as the owner of the ship for travel (He is forced to do this as a favor he owes Kate. We learn how she earned this favor in a deleted scene at the end of the book). Aspayment, the Pack will receive over a year’s worth of supply of Panacea, an herbal/magical medicine that greatly reduces the risk of teenagers going loupe.
This book is a highly emotional rollercoaster. At the beginning, we see Julie’s best friend go loupe, where she is stuck halfway between man and beast. Both Julie’s reaction and the mother’s reactions are hard to read while keeping a dry eye. Curran has agreed to attend this meeting overseas to acquire a large supply of the medicine that can cure, not just Julie’s friend, but all the children in the pack.
When we arrive in this new land, there are a lot of surprises. There are some unexpected people in the gathering that different members of the Pack have known from their past (I know it’s vague, but I don’t want to give any spoilers). This doesn’t bode well for our little group. This also tests the loyalty of everyone to loved ones and the Pack itself. We see Kate in probably the most vulnerable position we have ever seen from herand she stands strong through it as only Kate can. This isn’t to say it wasn’t hard for her, just she fought her hardest to do what was required from her as the Consort to the Pack and the Beast Lord, without showing what was really going on inside her head. This is extremely hard for Kate, as she usually wears her emotions on her sleeve.
We also get to meet many new types of strange creatures in this new world. I’ve always loved how Ilona Andrews describes these new, never before seen types of creatures. They are always so descriptive and the way they are described always makes me laugh even as I’m terrified.
This book is one of the more emotional books I’ve read/listened to in a while. There are some areas where I was so upset either for someone or at someone. The ending is bittersweet to say the least. The narration was wonderful as well, which is to be expected since we have the wonderful Renee Raudman who has done all the Kate books up to this point. She does a great job portraying the anger and sadness that goes through Kate throughout the book. I saw that this book made the New York Times #1 bestseller for Mass Market Paperbacks and it is well deserved. This book has hit me harder than any other book in a long while. It will make you watery eyed in some places, make you laugh in others. You will also be cheering on Kate in some great fight scenes. I highly recommend it to all the Kate lovers out there. If you haven’t read this series, you need to start now.

Not my favorite book in the series.
Revisado: 11-19-13
I’ve never been a big fan of Aryal, though I’ve been a fan of harpies from other series. Aryal rubs a lot of people the wrong way, both readers and other characters in the book. She also has a way of holding grudges, even if she’s not a hundred percent sure why she has a
grudge.
Quentin is part panther Wyr, part Elven and part Dark Fae. He isn’t proud of everything he has done in his past. But, he has fought his way into being a sentinel, the only one not able to fly, and he plans to do nothing to jeopardize his new job. Aryal is convinced that Quentin is hiding something and has burned all her bridges trying to prove it. When a fight between the two of them break out in the tower, Dragos sends the two of them on a mission to Numenlaur, which is a Elven land that was abandoned from during events in previous books. They must solve their issues or they will both lose their sentinel positions.
They start off the beginning of the trip plotting how one can kill the other without making it look like murder. Oh, and they have to be able to pass a supernatural type of lie detector, as well. There is talk of “hate sex” from the beginning, but murder is more likely. When they arrive at the cross over to Numenlaur, they notice that the people who should be guarding the gate aren’t there, so something must be wrong. They go ahead and cross to see what is going on. They find some pretty disturbing things in the Elven land. The land is mostly abandon, but should be completely empty. They are captured by a witch and are taken to the missing guards.
As expected, Aryal and Quentin have chemistry a lot sooner than they would’ve liked, but not sooner than I would’ve expected. They grow even closer with the conflict. As the title suggests, there is some BDSM in the story, but very light compared to what I’m used to. Both characters are very alpha, though I think that they like the idea of give up control to each other for short periods of time, just as much as they like have control of the other. Neither would be willing to give control to anyone else. The BDSM aspect seemed a little forced to me, because that is all the craze right now. While this story wasn’t bad and I ended up liking the characters better than I expected, I still think this is a weaker book in the series.

Also, Nix from Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series makes a very brief appearance. I am wondering if we will see more of her in future books. She is one of my favorite characters.
