I enjoyed this book, actually this whole series. It has some romance, some mystery and is entertaining without being stressful.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Delightful

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, so much that I regret it is finished. It starts off a little confusing with lots of characters but it is interesting and the story develops in some unexpected ways.

Disappointed
Revisado: 05-29-23
The audio version of Cal is ridiculous and annoying and I can only listed at 1.5 speed. 1/3 of this book was already released as a different book, Cruel Crown. I skipped at least half of the chapters and would have returned, but somehow didn’t have the option. Waste of time, if you must read, just skip to the very last chapter.

Historia
Georgie, or Lady Georgiana Rannoch, is busy planning her upcoming nuptials to Darcy O'Mara. Unfortunately, what has started as a simple wedding has become quite a royal headache and grand affair, thanks to a guest list that includes the queen and the appointment of princesses as Georgie's bridesmaids. “If only Darcy and I had eloped!” she thinks, as she attempts to organize her wedding and find a place for her and her husband-to-be to live. Just as she despairs of ever finding a home, her godfather offers his fully staffed country estate. But something sinister is afoot....

Disappointing
Revisado: 12-26-22
It was very hard to listen to this book with the new narrator. It was like she didn’t bother to listen to the previous books in the series. She said the names of main characters differently and the main character seemed like a different, much less likable character all together. I was sad to hear of the passing of the original narrator. It put the minor annoyances of the new narrator into perspective.

Historia
James Dommek, Jr., an Alaska Native writer and musician, sheds new light on a real-life mystery that pits Native American folklore against the US justice system. In the vast Alaskan Arctic, legend has it there once lived a mythic tribe—Iñukuns—that only existed in rumors and whispers. This changed forever when an actor-turned-fugitive, Teddy Kyle Smith, had an encounter that brought Iñukuns from myth to reality. Smith was an aspiring actor with a promising career until it all came quickly crashing down with a gunshot, a manhunt, bloodshed, and other frightful events.

This was a very interesting perspective given by an Alaskan Native. The story is a little disturbing but I found the story teller to be interesting. The details he included in the story about Alaskan life, families, beliefs, and land kept me listening. The abundant use of the word ‘fuck’ detracted from his story and made him sound less intelligent than he comes across otherwise. However, I found my horizons broadened through this story, which is the bigger point. Well done. Keep telling stories and keep pursuing your dreams.
