Some consistency please?!
Revisado: 02-19-18
I love the Six of Crows series. I typically love the juxtaposition of character voices and narration... when it’s done right. It was extremely frustrating to hear Jesper’s accent depicted at least 2-3 different ways. It was also frustrating to hear certain words/names pronounced in different ways. If you’re goi g to use multiple narrators, there needs to be some meeting-of-the-minds so that there’s consistency in the characters and the way they’re portrayed and consistency in the pronunciation of words unique to this series. Jesper’s was THE most frustrating... he didn’t even sound like his own father for crying out loud! *sigh*

Too many narrators
Revisado: 12-09-16
With this many narrators one would expect a full cast performance. Gets too confusing. Guys not good at female voices and vice versa

Juxtaposition
Revisado: 10-06-16
Her writing is melodic and moving... Raw yet so fluid. Even if I disagreed with most of what she said, her story itself and the narration were captivating and passionate. I wouldn't read it again but I would definitely recommend it. It's a story that elicits discourse and social thought... One that leaves the reader/listener changed. And that's the true definition of a good book, is it not?

Whiny narrator
Revisado: 09-28-16
The book was already a bit too wimpy teenage angst fit me. I expected more. The narrator was the nail in the coffin. Everyone except John and Henri sounded nasal and whiny or overly exaggerated. It completely detracted from he story. Every time I started to that it seriously sarah or Mark James spoke and reminded me what a joke the book was. Story had lots of potential

Beautifully depressing?
Revisado: 09-15-16
Dark and depressing. The authors voice was rich but in so much pain. And pointless. The narrator made the man sound like he grew up in the 1900s and much older than I anticipate he actually was.

Historia
A teenage girl awakens to find herself trapped in a coffin. She has no idea who she is, where she is, or how she got there. Fighting her way free brings little relief - she discovers only a room lined with caskets and a handful of equally mystified survivors. Beyond their room lies a corridor filled with bones and dust but no people and no answers. She knows only one thing about herself - her name, M. Savage, which was engraved on the foot of her coffin. She finds herself in charge. She is not the biggest among them or the boldest, but for some reason the others trust her.

Teen fiction?
Revisado: 07-25-16
I really wanted to love this book. The premise of the book is great but it falls short. I spent the first 2 hours trying to figure out of this was actually a kids book. I have loved Emma Galvin narrations ever since Divergent, but I couldn't love Em. Her obsession with leading was so distracting. I thought I'd find out some reason for the school-girl-hissy-fit about being the leader ... But I didn't. Or find out the meaning behind the symbols on their foreheads? Or what started the war? Nothing. The author wants us to blindly keep reading for answers when the next installment is a whole different threat. Not really interested to invest that kind of time on this series...

Pause... Pause...... Pause.........
Revisado: 06-17-16
Truly enjoying this book series... But I miss the original narrator. The pauses in this author's narration were so long in between chapters that i constantly looked back at my phone to see if it had gone off or if someone was calling me. It became unbelievably irritating to the point where it was a distraction.

I never heard him come after me and even as I climbed the slope and stumbled onto our shaded back lawn, I didn't look back. It was like the day the gnomes chased me all over again, but this time I was not escaping some horrible little creatures, I was fleeing from an incredibly good-looking guy who could very well understand me completely. I was either saving myself from that serial killer I always imagined lived down in the swamp, or I had finally gone over the deep end...

Narrator terrible. She read every sentence like it ended with a question mark. Made main character sound even more desperate and pathetic than the poor writing made her out to be.

Love the lunar Chronicles... But this one was anticlimactic.
Didn't REALLY explain how or why she is so evil. And I hated that she sounded like our beloved cinder. How confusing emotionally
