Historia
Detective Harry Bosch has retired from the LAPD, but his half-brother, defense attorney Mickey Haller, needs his help. The murder rap against his client seems ironclad, but Mickey is sure it's a setup. Though it goes against all his instincts, Bosch takes the case. With the secret help of his former LAPD partner, Lucia Soto, he turns the investigation inside the police department. But as Bosch gets closer to discovering the truth, he makes himself a target.

I read and listen to a lot of books. Most books are good, entertaining. Every once in a while I get a stinker.
This book is NOT a stinker. It is the kind I look forward to at the end of the work day and will re-read in a few years. I will miss the characters now that I am finished.

Historia
In AD 1119, a group of nine crusaders became known as the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon - a militant monastic order charged with protecting pilgrims and caravans traveling on the roads to and from the Holy Land. In time, the Knights Templar would grow in power and, ultimately, be laid low. But a small offshoot of the Templars endure and have returned to the order's original mission: to defend the roads of the world and guard those who travel on them.

Heavy handed religion not suspense
Revisado: 03-01-19
I have read 3 other books by this author and I loved them. This book was blatant religious pandering. I like my spiritual inspiration APART from my reading entertainment. No suspense other than who was going to have the next holy experience.

Worth a read
Revisado: 02-27-19
This is the first time I read anything by Tata. After I bought it, I looked up the author and saw he was a Fox and Friends regular. Almost returned it then.
I am glad I didn’t. Good story, likable characters. Tata is definitely in my repeat author category. I am glad my prejudice didn’t stop me from enjoying a new author.

One war may have ended, but another one has already begun, against an enemy that is bigger, smarter, and more vicious: The Soviet Union. The Soviets have hit the ground running, and Cronley's job is to help frustrate them, harass them, and spy on them any way he can.

Retread legend
Revisado: 08-23-18
I wasn’t a big fan of the main character. He was a bit officious. I also dislike male characters that perpetrate the testosterone characterization. Not bad enough that I wanted to stop reading it, but I likely won’t read another of this author’s books.

Predictable
Revisado: 08-08-18
The main characters weren’t likable. I didn’t miss them when the book was over. The relationships were a little forced. Plot was good versus evil. Good was a little too good. Evil was too evil. Slow start.

Not my favorite Masello novel
Revisado: 01-26-17
I usually love this author and I still do. This story wasn't my favorite. The characters were well developed, but the story line dragged. Masello has given me enough hours of good reading to try him again though. The reader was great with a Scots accent.

Enjoyed meeting Andrew Gross and Ty Hauck
Revisado: 12-23-16
Enjoyable plot with likable characters. Milked suspense scenes. Overused the word 'scamper'. Picky? Yes. Not much to criticize here. Already picked another book by Gross to listen to.

Always fun to read
Revisado: 06-24-16
I enjoy Rollins characters; they are folks I could invite home and I miss them when the book's over. Story line is creative with a foot in facts with a good measure of fantasy.
The narrator in this book took a few hours to get used to. He tried too hard to do foreign accents so most foreigners sounded like they were Asian but raised in Italy. He improved toward the end or I got accustomed to him.
