Historia
Ariel Price wakes up in Lisbon, alone. Her husband is gone—no warning, no note, not answering his phone. Something is wrong. She starts with hotel security, then the police, then the American embassy, at each confronting questions she can’t fully answer: What exactly is John doing in Lisbon? Why would he drag her along on his business trip? Who would want to harm him? And why does Ariel know so little about her new—much younger—husband?

The accents are definitely not Portuguese
Revisado: 11-06-24
The story was good but the accents of the people in the story who are meant to be Portuguese are so far off. They sound almost Romanian, it really threw me off. Also it’s “obrigada” for a female speaker and “obrigado” for a male speaker.

"When it comes to dating, I seem to be going around in a circle. The ones I want don't want me, and the ones who want me, I don't want." (Amelia). I don’t know, I just think there’s too much miscommunication between guys and girls. I mean, no one knows what the fuck is going on. We need to have the discussion. We need to vent it and get it out in the open,” I said, grabbing my drink from the bedside table.

Historia
Mindy Kaling has lived many lives: the obedient child of immigrant professionals, a timid chubster afraid of her own bike, a Ben Affleck–impersonating Off-Broadway performer and playwright, and, finally, a comedy writer and actress prone to starting fights with her friends and coworkers with the sentence “Can I just say one last thing about this, and then I swear I’ll shut up about it?”

I lover her, but I just don't see it for this book
Revisado: 04-14-15
I love Mindy. She's awesome and talented and just all around great. I wanted to like this book. I really tried. Her quirkiness and delivery got me through to the end but it was tough. The book just felt like it dragged on and the last two hours I almost gave up. I give her three stars because I'm a fan and I enjoy her in all other mediums. If it was anyone else I would have asked for a credit refund.
