Profound insights, inspiring, an important book

Profound insights and well articulated. I Holy man, I conclude, with much clarity, eloquence and penetrating understanding of our times. I appreciate his historical, social, intellectual and theological grasp of the many complex and critical issues facing our Church and the world today. A very important book indeed that all Catholics should read and reflect on. Thank you Cardinal Sarah, you give us hope and comfort that we still have true Shepherds such as you guiding the Flock of Christ.

Wow! Powerful book! Troubling signs

So much of what I was beginning to suspect and fear as a faithful Catholic is clearly affirmed and more by this author. He gives facts based on this Pope’s own words, teachings and acts that are very very troubling to say the least. It appears that all the hard work and accomplishments for evangelization, the preservation of the Holy Faith and Church under St. John Pau II and Benedict are being undermined. God help us!

I’m really enjoying listening to Weigel’s adventure around the world in becoming the Pope’s biographer. It’s a behind the scenes look into the story of writing this great biography and the people, places, lessons and experiences encountered along the way. Especially revealing and moving are his encounters with the Pope and the special friendship that emerges with the insights to JPII’s life and thoughts.

A masterful account of a great and holy man!

What a remarkable life and a remarkable account by Weigel! The author has great insight and a masterful command of the complex historical, philosophical and theological forces at work in the life of this complex, profound and holy man, Pope John Paul II. It is a marvel to discover what an extraordinary impact and force for good JPII had on the Church and the world! To see how Christ is at the summit of all things human and the great dignity bestowed on us by the God-Man. I love JPII’s Christocentric humanism. It’s the answer to our crisis of civilization. I savored every moment and every word! I will listen to it again and many times over. There are so many gems to contemplate here!
