Premise of book seems farfetched

The things I found farfetched:
1. Protesters committing armed robbery,
2. A governor of LA banning anything to do with guns,
3. That 7 "leaders of the community" would develop and carry out such a plot.

On the other hand the characters are interesting and if the if you can suspend disbelief for a while it is entertaining.

What did you love best about Treachery at Lancaster Gate?

I liked how the story slowly unfolded, and how Pitt and Telman had to face some disturbing facts.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I think Telman was my favorite. His idealism was tested. It was nice to see something about his relationship with Gracie also.

Any additional comments?

My only disappointment with the book was the ending. It was a little too pat and not quite believable.

What did you love best about The Heroes' Welcome?

It was a very realistic picture of the recovery from WW1. It shows how different people react to peace. Peter can't cope, while Nadine and Riley manage to cope and prosper

What other book might you compare The Heroes' Welcome to and why?

I would read My Dear I Wanted to tell you first.

What does Dan Stevens bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Dan Stevens is an excellent narrator. He doesn't get in the way of the story, but carries you along.

If you could take any character from The Heroes' Welcome out to dinner, who would it be and why?

It would have to be Riley.

What made the experience of listening to The Invisible Ones the most enjoyable?

The narration is first rate. I really enjoyed the story about modern day gypsies and the problems small communities have with too much intermarriage. The story is engrossing, and the ending surprising.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I really liked J-J. His story was so personal and interesting

Which character – as performed by Dan Stevens – was your favorite?

Dan did a great job with both J-J and Ray.

If you could take any character from My Dear I Wanted to Tell You out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Riley is a great character. You follow from when he is a working class boy, growing up with a higher class, in the war, and then recovering from his wounds.

The picture of Barcelona was the best part of the story, and the language was beautiful

The scenes where Isobel comes and takes care of him were the most beautiful.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes

Any additional comments?

Dan Stevens is a terrific narrator. I could listen to his voice anytime.

What did you love best about Bleak House?

The two narrators worked really well. It really felt like reading the book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bleak House?

Dickens always has such varied and interesting characters. This book is particularly filled with them.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene where Esther and Mr. Bucket chase after Lady Dedlock was very exciting, and ultimately sad.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

What a wonderful man John Jandyce is, but some of the characters take advantage of them.

Any additional comments?

I would say that this is an excellent version of Bleak House, and I would highly recommend it.

Would you consider the audio edition of Beguiling the Beauty to be better than the print version?

I actually liked the audio version better than the print version

Any additional comments?

I liked the book and the audio up to the last chapter. The way Sherry Thomas finished the book felt abrupt and somewhat unbelievable. I would say this is an excellent the book except for the last book. This is however a great lead-in to the next two books in the series.

Courtney Milan is a terrific writer. This short story is well done, and what a wonderful surprise to have Simon Prebble as the narrator. He is my favorite.
