Historia
There exists, an indispensable subculture based within a 500-mile radius of the coastal South Atlantic states and Sea Islands. These culture bearers, who refer to themselves as the Gullah Geechee, or the “Gullah” for short, are the descendants and rightful heirs of the once-shackled slaves who resided in these parts. As the guardians and torch holders of the incredible legacy left behind by their persevering ancestors, the modern Gullah spare no effort in preserving the inherently unique customs and traditions, complete with their own creole tongue.

Uplifting book
Revisado: 08-25-23
As a native of the Gullah community, this book has revealed aspects of my lineage in a respectful and comforting way. It has brought to my mind the many actions we did as a way of life to the forefront. My depth of understanding has deepened and I feel honored to be a part of this rich culture.

Awesome book!!
Revisado: 09-08-22
From beginning to end, this was a fabulous book to listen to and savor. What grabbed my attention the most were the famous individuals who studied the Gita, such as Beethoven and Henry David Thoreau. Additionally, their study of the work became the catalyst for their activation of calling.
This book is recommended for everyone who’s looking for guidance in their life path. Interestingly, I was referred to this book once I made a pivotal decision to change my life path to my first love. Once that began, I started this book and my eyes opened to the toxicity of my previous life that hindered my dharma. I’m now dedicated to at least “fail at one’s own dharma than succeed at another’s dharma.”

This book was an amazing treat to listen to. Hildegard von Bingen as a developing physician and head mistress helped shape a more complex vision and appreciation for her and her works.
