Historia
Just when I think everything is calming down, it ramps back up to eleven. On what should be one of the happiest and most romantic days of my life, the unthinkable happens. The ghosts I’d so kindly guided into the Light showed up on my front porch, including my dead husband. Something or someone is messing with the balance and if it’s not remedied, the Darkness will destroy the world.

I Absolutely Love Books 1-11!! HOWEVER, THIS BOOK 12 IS VERY DISAPPOINTING😢
Revisado: 02-22-25
**Let me say before I say anything negative… that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ❤️ EVERY SINGLE OTHER BOOK IN THIS SERIES!!!! BOOKS 1-11🩷I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING NEGATIVE WHATSOEVER TO SAY ABOUT ANY OTHER BOOK BUT BOOK 12. (So, I am a HUGE FAN…NOT a random negative reader!) (I have never physically read her books 📕-only listened to them..so I have no idea 🤷♀️ how to spell Candy’s last name..in fact I could be spelling Candy wrong also! I believe they are saying Vargas or Vargus as her last name when they say it???I could be mistaken though 😂 you can laugh 🤭!) I EVEN THINK THE CUSSING OF CANDY V. IS HILARIOUS IN ALL THE BOOKS TOO!! So, I’m definitely not a prude either lol 😂
~I was so excited for this new Book 12! I pre-ordered this one like I have all the others in this series!! Yet, I was disappointed this time 😢
~The cussing 🤬 (F- for sure) wasn’t funny for the first time and it was EXTREMELY OFTEN. (It was not just Candy’s character either.) And like I said- I am not opposed to cussing whatsoever…but it was.. A Lot!
~This book seems quite a bit shorter in length to me overall. {However,I did need to increase the speed/pace that I listened to this book (vs not with any previous books) for the narration to sound like the other books pace normally do.
~I can’t put my finger on what all was missing from this book that makes me feel like it just overall fell so short compared to all the previous books in the series (besides what I mention.) The very end scene of course has a dramatic conclusion but that only takes a few seconds. So, I’m not upset that it was a cliffhanger or anything. Perhaps 🤔 it is just that the plot was not complex enough? (I am not a writer..so I am not trying to be mean..I am just trying to let others know. I always appreciate it when people actually give detailed & honest feedback.)
~The ‘ghosts’ in this story (I can’t say more or it will be spoilers) are the same ‘ghosts’ from previous books…so they re-cap those past stories we have already heard about before. (Which I understand they want to refresh the readers minds of who they are. Or if you are new reader- tell you the story. I already knew who they were before they explained their stories bc I have been a huge fan since the beginning..so it was disappointing that they didn’t have new ones in there ALSO WITH NEW STORIES (I think that would have helped for sure IF they would have added some FRESH GHOSTS WITH FRESH STORIES WITH THE OLD..so it would not be just re-cap maybe?? ) Overall, it doesn’t make it feel as if it’s a brand New book with a New storyline. I will be curious to see if other people agree with what I have written.
~**It REALLY BOTHERED ME FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME EVER THE NARRATOR had GRAN ‘s character voice {Gran is the ‘ghost’ grandmother of Daisy that they call Gran) WITH THE EXACT SAME VOICE AS CANDY V. !!!!! The ENTIRE TIME They are on the adventure!!!! It was the most ANNOYING & IRRITATING THING EVER HEARING IT!!! Bc I have always been able to very easily recognize every single character just by their voice without having to hear the name told in every book 1-11! I have always been IMPRESSED with the narrator. NOT THIS BOOK…you think it’s Candy V talking..even when you know it just can’t be because she isn’t there in the scene!! And they have the Gran speaking Candy’s slang words too!! So, then when you hear Candy V’s voice and she’s talking the way Candy V speaks..but it’s Gran actually saying the words…AHHH…so frustrating…I just really missed Grans “normal narrated voice” from books 1-11. I was missing Grans normal voice the entire time I was listening to this book!!!
~I think this would have made a much better 📕 11.5 book in the Series INSTEAD of having us wait for this being our Book 12 . Does that make sense?!
~ I hate saying these negative things but I wanted to be honest & I hope it helps someone else. 💜

I would have definitely given many more ⭐️ if *IMPORTANT INFORMATION WASN’T LEFT OUT 😢
Revisado: 11-05-24
My experience with this Book was actually going fantastic …UNTIL..the near end. When we are starting to learn the details of what Actually Happened!! The exact details are about to be revealed and he actually says almost those exact words too! 😂 Since I can’t remember it word for word I will say it was something like: ‘ I will tell you exactly what happened.” YET, instead of anything at all being described..the next words you hear is, “ 7 months later.” WAIT…WHAT JUST HAPPENED TO ALL THE DETAILS OF WHAT HAPPENED IN THE STORY?!?! NOTHING WAS EXPLAINED AT ALL?!?! 😢😔😩😤The book was so good and totally worth a 5 star ⭐️ until that moment and the Pure Disappointment Ruined Everything!!! The final minutes did nothing to make up for it. Sorry. And his daughter being in a very minimal prison for only a few years like Martha Steward it said..but the explanation/reason why they gave her the sentencing they chose to put her in prison..I didn’t understand either. I assume because it would have been explained in whatever was not read & was missing from this book also?😫 Extremely Disappointing!!! This was really an awesome read…BUT VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION IN IT, IS NOT INCLUDED 😟
**ADD BACK IN WHAT IS MISSING … and this book will receive RAVE 5 ⭐️ reviews all the time!!!! I would give 5 stars ⭐️ if I could hear the places I missed 💛💚🧡❤️

First 2 were Perfect ..this 3rd needs a few modifications before it gets there…
Revisado: 07-30-24
I agree with the other comments. The first 2 Seasons were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!
This 3rd one:
~I was so excited for but there were a few things that they need to improve. The sound quality and music etc.
~In the first 2 Seasons All the sounds and music were neat, interesting & fun ..why change anything?? My favorite part was that deep, dramatic, tapping at the end or the beginning..do you remember what I mean? To signal something to the audience. I loved that..and I missed that in particular
~Now, in this 3rd season the voices were so quiet in many parts that they were practically drowned out by the music or sound effects: no matter how high the volume!
2) The Pace. This 3rd Season was much slower and there was not any of the pull from the first page to the last. That feeling of excitement or nerves to hear what was going to come in the next second, minute, even the next hours…because WAIT I thought it could all be over Right Now…But I just looked down at my phone and there are 4 hours left?!?!? HOW CAN THAT BE?!? WOW THIS IS GOOD!!! Like I did many times with Season 1 & 2 !!! There was Not one time I did that sadly. **HOWEVER, I did LOVE the big battle scene once they finally made it there!!! It was PERFECTION- Wasn’t that thought out just so clearly!!! These writers really are creative!!! Listening to these stories really makes you FEEL like you are in an actual movie 🍿 theater with the creator of the story!!
3) Focusing too much on the love life in the 3rd unlike the first 2. I was confused on how it had anything to do with the end game of the story itself ?? Unless they will reveal the queen 👸 must be with a woman instead of a man to fulfill her destiny or something?? I was so confused. They didn’t do it in the first 2 books so why slow a fast-paced series to do it now?? Because all it did with all the flashbacks and back forth WAS slow motion the plot. I don’t think any of the listeners minded hearing if she chose a man, woman, vampire, troll, beast, man and woman, 2 women or whatever she wanted. That wasn’t the issue whatsoever with anyone. I think the LONG TIME WASTED of the story, with ZERO action, suspense etc is the issue. Because honestly everything that happened between them… could have been summed up, AND STILL BEEN COMPLETELY IN THE BOOK, in a solid chunk of a 30 minute time slot. You can still do it, mention everything if you want, just all at once and be Done-move on with the suspense.
Or if it had nothing to do with the plot actually then shorten it up, cut out the fluff, {like the story with the sister/ wife and boyfriend vampire}..same thing make it short and sweet and move on. I think either way ~that would have worked better..in my opinion. Sorry, if no one else agrees.
~ I am only one person..I doubt they will take my advice 😂 but I think with those minor changes ~ it would be just as PERFECT as 1 & 2 😍

They say eyes are the windows to the soul—but when he looks at me through hues of slate-green and flaring blue embers, I'm terrified of what's watching me from behind his clashing gaze, something primal and feverish that threatens to melt me like fire in ice. I fear falling into Kallum Locke's pitch-black soul. But after I'm called to a crime scene to investigate the most gruesome act of violence to descend on the legendary town of Hollow's Row, I have no choice but to turn to Kallum, to the man I had locked away in an asylum for the criminally insane.

So Much Better Than I Thought It Would Be 💜
Revisado: 04-28-24
This is my first book by this author. {Other comments have suggested that this book has characteristics similar of Hannibal…don’t pay attention to them!!!! This book has NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT STORY!! Maybe if you sat down in a circle and smoked some pot .. pondering 🤔 what about each of these characters could we pick out that could be similar and now what about the Hannibal story..let’s smoke some more and dissect each even more and ponder the theme and theory and psychology and philosophy on all of it!! Then yes they could definitely reach conclusions and connections for sure, I would think. But please ~ if you are just reading this book or listening to it… it absolutely does NOT just follow the same story as Hannibal or any other similar!! Ps… IF IT DID..this poor author would have been sued by now for doing so! }
This author had my attention throughout the entire book. After hearing this audio version ~ I wish every book that had multiple narrators would be in duel form. It flows beautifully and it’s completely seamless! I would strongly recommend giving this book a chance 💚 I would give it more than 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️if I could!

My husband and I are fighting for our lives in hospital after a terrible car accident. But despite my pain, all I can think about is what our families will find behind our front door. The scarf that has been all over the news, belonging to a dead young woman with honey-coloured hair. I have to speak to the police before my husband can. I’m drifting in and out of consciousness, but when I hear my wife talking to the police, accusing me of the murder of an innocent woman, a cold fear grips me. I know I’ve got a temper.

Definitely One of Her Best Books 📚!!!!
Revisado: 12-18-23
I really enjoyed this book! I have always liked this author. However, in some of her books I can guess the ending…which is okay…because the book is still really good. But, I also have thought to myself, that I would like to see the author write a twist that even us “expert readers of this genre might not see coming too.” And THIS BOOK WAS FINALLY THAT ONE!! Thank you!!!! The twist was AWESOME!!!!! This book is definitely now on my favorites list!!🩵My mind was thinking one way and it came completely out of a different direction!! And I Loved every single second of it! Thank you for writing this book!

This Psych 312 assignment just might send me off the deep end. Determining whether love at first sight really exists with Robbie Moravian as my project partner of all people? He’s the sappiest man alive, so upbeat I could scream, and clearly rooting for happy endings at every turn. How does he not learn from experience considering our own meet-cute last semester almost got us expelled? But we both need to pass this course to graduate. So we’re interviewing five random couples about their meet-cutes and relationships and spending all this time together. Which is certainly...educational.

Revisado: 07-17-23
This is such an adorable, light-hearted & fun story! The narration by both ~ absolutely perfect!! Also, I think they did a great job with the length not being too long either.
*It was really weird to actually to see a picture of a clip of the 2 narrators under the book advertisement. I wish I hadn’t. Even though I didn’t even watch it…I saw what they looked like 🫣. I NEVER want to do that again!!! No offense…sorry narrators but you guys do not look as good as what I was imagining for my two main characters!! 😢 Also, their voices certainly didn’t match their real life bodies! It was just all wrong and weird for me..so note to myself…never find out what the ‘real life’ voice looks like. I prefer the imagery of what I want them to be in my head ~ to go with the story being told. I’m so sorry that sounds harsh! But it’s my truth. This story is Amazing 🤩

NOT AT ALL WHAT I EXPECTED….
Revisado: 06-13-23
When I saw ‘Crime Thriller’ & ‘Romantic Suspense’ as the description of this book at the bottom by Audible…I thought 💭 okay I love crime thrillers!! Romantic Suspense..sounded interesting. I’m not a huge fan of mushy romance but a little bit is fine 😉. My favorite genre is crime, suspense and psychological thrillers.(which I know this book did not claim to be) Yet, it mentioned the description crime thriller and suspense so I guess I had my hopes up😬 To be honest (& feel free to laugh @ me) I thought the description “Dark” just meant that it would be a book about more intense, violent, graphic murders etc. Like we would get to see into a deep, dark world of an underground secret society of hit man or something. Which would be an intriguing place like an accident scene where you just can’t help yourself but look.
WOW…. WAS I COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY WHEN I REALIZED THAT “DARK” ..meant….H O T EROTIC S E X 🫣🥵😛😍and TONS of it!!! 😂 Totally the opposite of what I was expecting!!! I had to laugh at myself!!! It was not a Crime Thriller in any sense!! It should be labeled Erotica and you could add Suspense.
***There are MANY complaints about the Narrator’s’ abilities …. and the Solution is to Speed Up their talking.
~Needless to say, the entire description of this book was only a sliver of what this book is really about!! It is definitely about a secret society of Lords and Ladies but it actually has a Really great story that goes along with it. With heartbreak, love, betrayal, backstabbing, jealousy, hate, cruelty, definitely a lot of sex, loyalty and secrets. It is an unexpected, amazing book that I definitely recommend for the strong reader 🩷🩷

Abuse from Nessa & abuse from Alexis is this Terrible Book that Should Never Have Been Published
Revisado: 02-09-23
First… how can the 2 main characters claim to best friends in any way?? When Nessa is terrified to even be alone with him in his house on taco night without their other friends?? That is not a sign of close friends-so, definitely not best friends!!
Why are we supposed to hate Alexis for having sex with him at 16 years old after his mother’s death, in comfort, until the present day (which in some states legal age if you look it up (my father is the Chief of Police that is how I know these age limits can be low it’s scary and sad but true and legally can be 14, 15 or 16 years old…could actually be the states legal consenting age-or it could be illegal until 17 -all depending on each state’s laws!!) This book just lets us guess. Yet, There are zero consequences for her actions regardless. And in a way promoting both females actions ~ Alexis And Nessa!! However, Nessa can throw herself all over him .. naked in the hot tub..remember…and act in the same predatory, abusive manner as Alexis (but Alexis was clothed in this book) but since Nessa is his same age ..we think it’s perfectly acceptable?? Why?? Nessa acts obsessive and manipulative with his feelings just like Alexis does. We as readers and listeners should NOT like EITHER woman for him 😥He should be with a innocently sweet, kind & gentle, loving & supportive woman who wants him to get counseling for the trauma, abuse & manipulation he went through with Alexis most of his life.
This story is rushed, didn’t need the background story of abuse that had zero consequences or conclusions! The other 3 books in her series are fantastic!
BUT this book just should NOT HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED AT ALL! Sorry 😢 to say…the series ONLY needed 3 Books.

Enjoyed this story. HOWEVER, it has NOTHING to do with books 1 & 2!! BEWARE!!
Revisado: 01-19-23
I really enjoyed the story line of this book. However, like I stated above, I am extremely disappointed that this 3rd book in the series has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH THE FIRST 2 BOOKS OF THIS SERIES!!! (Except that it has a set of lawyers from the 2nd book- but they had ZERO continuation of the 2 previous books story line!!) I blindly just bought all 3 books in the series after reading the summary of the first book. And I loved books 1 & 2 and I REALLY want to know the ending of the story of book 2…which should be in this book 3!!! But it is not!! So, yes this was a really great STAND ALONE BOOK- but it had ZERO to do with books 1 & 2 🥺!!! So, book 2 just ends??? If I knew this I would have written a Review for book 2!! But now you can no longer go back to your original posts anymore ~which I only rated 5 stars with no review. I can’t update my review for book 2 anymore to warn people about it 😢 If audible would allow us, like we used to be able to access our account ~I would add a review stating book 3 is a stand alone book. This is why I am giving this book 4 stars ⭐️. Sorry book. But it’s the author’s deception I am very disappointed in.
