Historia
The life Olivia Harper always dreamed of isn’t so dreamy these days. The 16-hour work days are unfulfilling and so are things with her on-again, off-again boyfriend. But when she hears that her estranged mother, Juliet, has been seriously injured, Liv has no choice but to pack up her life and head home to beautiful Cape Sanctuary on the Northern California coast. It’s just for a few months - that’s what Liv keeps telling herself. But the closer she gets to Cape Sanctuary, the painful memories start flooding back.

Self involved characters
Revisado: 08-19-24
I had to force myself to listen to this book. The narrator is good but all of the characters are so self involved with their own “angst”. I grew tired of it quickly and it was difficult to become involved in any romance which takes until the end to happen.

Historia
Wyoming game warden Joe Pickett faces two different kinds of raging beasts—one animal, one human—in this riveting new novel from #1 New York Times bestseller C. J. Box. A rogue grizzly bear has gone on a rampage—killing, among others, the potential fiancé of Joe’s daughter. At the same time, Dallas Cates, whom Joe helped lock up years ago, is released from prison with a special list tattooed on his skin. He wants revenge on the people who sent him away: the six people he blames for the deaths of his entire family and the loss of his reputation and property.

Almost up to par
Revisado: 03-24-24
This story is almost as good as earlier Joe Pickett stories. A bit more brutal and has the shortness to the story that reads like “the book before the next book”. I feel it could have been strengthened by expanding the involvement of Sheridan and Nate. It was too easily solved by Joe and his wife and the story quickly ended.
The narration was bland in that it lacked any evidence of emotion, urgency, or fright. Inflection points were odd at times. Even though this is the narrator for this series, I found myself frequently annoyed and wishing I was reading the book instead of listening to it.

Historia
With a new job I didn’t apply for and an extended family I didn’t know I had - midlife has become somewhat problematic. Gluing ghosts back together is easy compared to my new celestial occupation. The Grim Reaper wants to put a ring on it. Tim wants to be a father. Candy Vargo has lost her damn mind, and Jennifer thinks we’re all sparkly vampires. I’ve been given an impossible task with catastrophic consequences for failure, but it wouldn’t be my midlife without another crisis.

Amazingly fun narrator
Revisado: 01-31-24
This narrator has all of the characters down. I get the biggest kick out of Gram and Jennifer- “hell to the no!”

Historia
After a Luke Skywalker/Darth Vader moment, I discovered I do indeed have a father. He comes with a hell of a lot of baggage, but I’ve decided to keep him. Not only do I have a father, I have a kick-ass new sister, a ghostly family, and super powers to boot. If you add to the mix that I’m dating the Grim Reaper, it’s a freakin’ party. The only thing standing in the way of my happiness is the Angel of Mercy, though Angel of Misery is more appropriate. She’s responsible for almost everyone I have loved, and who has loved me, being taken away.

This narrator is wonderful. All the voices and different accents and speech patterns. I especially like Gram and Candy and Jennifer. Really a fun listen.

Historia
Lyr might be a powerful elven lord in charge of thousands, but his personal life is a disaster. Just the month before, a daughter he'd never known existed arrived from Earth, giving him news of his lost love's death. Since then, he has been betrayed, captured, and almost murdered. And though his enemy was defeated, Lyr's wounds never seem to heal. He certainly doesn't need more conflict.

Good story.
Revisado: 03-05-22
I enjoy the first book and this one for the story. The female narrator should have read the entire books. The male narrator drones and puts me to sleep. His voice is very deep and lacks range for voicing female characters.
Really, not sure why two narrators were chosen.

Historia
At the height of WWII, five idealistic young Americans receive a mysterious letter from the OSS, asking them if they are willing to fight for their country. The men and women from very different backgrounds - a Texan athlete with German roots, an upper-crust son of a French mother and a wealthy businessman, a dirt-poor Midwestern fly fisherman, an orphaned fashion designer, and a ravishingly beautiful female fencer - all answer the call of duty, but each for a secret reason of his or her own. They bond immediately, in a group code-named Dragonfly.

My 87 year old mother recommended this book. She said she couldn’t put it down. I agree. The audible version is superb.

Historia
Caitlyn Sullivan had come from a long line of Hollywood royalty, stretching back to her Irish immigrant great-grandfather. At nine, she was already a star - yet still an innocent child who loved to play hide-and-seek with her cousins at the family home in Big Sur. It was during one of those games that she disappeared. Some may have considered her a pampered princess, but Cate was in fact a smart, scrappy fighter, and she managed to escape her abductors. Callan Cooper was shocked to find the bloodied, exhausted girl huddled in his house.

Anti climatic ending
Revisado: 07-06-20
The last few Nora Roberts books that I have listened to are very well performed. But Ms Roberts has ended this book like the others: a very anti climatic ending after a long lead in and set up for a more dramatic ending. I’m disappointed.

Boring, boring, boring
Revisado: 01-16-20
A full novel of techno babble. Dead pan delivery. I quit before I was 3/4 of the way through. I usually stay with a book all the way but this kept putting me to sleep.
