Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

Just keep living
Revisado: 11-16-20
Tbh the beginning was a bit slow but I kept at it and I’m so glad I did! Fun, Insightful, with sprinkles of hope throughout. I highly recommend everyone LISTEN to this book. The narrator ain’t so bad himself 😉

Historia
Sarat Chestnut, born in Louisiana, is only six when the Second American Civil War breaks out in 2074. But even she knows that oil is outlawed, that Louisiana is half underwater, that unmanned drones fill the sky. And when her father is killed and her family is forced into Camp Patience for displaced persons, she quickly begins to be shaped by her particular time and place until, finally, through the influence of a mysterious functionary, she is turned into a deadly instrument of war.

It’s worth the listen...
Revisado: 08-10-20
Certainly worth the listen. Storyline left me wanting for more historical development which would have been helpful in understanding the era in which the story was set. The heroin of the story is a tragic and complex woman. War is hell on all it touches, and this book does not sugarcoat this fact.

Historia
What would happen if the ancient prophecy of the End of Days came true? It is certainly the last thing Eric Katz, a secular archaeologist from Los Angeles, expects during what should be a routine dig in Jerusalem. But perhaps higher forces have something else in mind when a sign presaging the rising of the Third Temple is located in America, a dirty bomb is detonated in downtown Tel Aviv, and events conspire to place a team of archaeologists in the tunnels deep under the Temple Mount.

Ouch...Not the well thought out storyline...
Revisado: 11-01-19
Not the well thought out storyline I would expect from the author. I am a tremendous fan of H.T., and have read or listened to many of his books. This one simply was not in his wheelhouse. I think he would have been better off writing some alternative history about religion if that’s what he wanted. Perhaps if the apostles would’ve taken the gospel to Asia rather than Europe? I don’t know, this simply wasn’t very good.
