I love the way this author writes. It’s beautiful. This is a book club book; it makes you think. Everyone will have a different opinion. My opinion: she felt she had no other choice. Who else had shown her she could trust them? And the world she grew up in (her ‘mother’) taught her how to take care of herself. The sad thing is society in the past, today, and in the future for some people hasn’t changed. They feel they have no other place to turn, no other choice.

Good, could have been better

When an author writes about medical things, could you please get some advice? For example, the femur is NOT an arm bone. Elle keeps getting knocked out yet she stands up and runs to the next situation to get knocked out again. If she’s buried alive and needs to be resuscitated, she’s going to have some dirt in her lungs and airway. Too many things make it unbelievable. In many books, I try to suspend my medical mind, but this one had too many basic problems.

I liked this one a little better than the 1st in the series, the dogs worked more, more suspense, and trying to figure out what was going on. Again would love more books on audible from Jodi Burnett!

This is a fun, easy listen. A bit of mystery that keeps you on your toes a bit. I love books that have working dogs in them. It had some romance too but not explicit which I appreciate. I would love to listen to more of Jodi Burnett’s books!
