Historia
Why does the Bible contain so many stories of hurting people? Though their situations vary, their conditions don't. They have nowhere to turn. Yet before their eyes stands a never-say-die Galilean who majors in stepping in when everyone else steps out. Lucado reminds us that the purpose of these portraits isn't to tell us what Jesus did-but rather to remind us what Jesus still does.

Great book but buy a different version
Revisado: 10-14-24
They really screwed up. This audiobook version of it, because it is completely missing chapters, and the chapters that ARE present are poorly organized. I got this to do a study on it with my church group and I was left constantly confused as I was never reading the same thing the others were.
Max Lucado wrote a great book that deserves better than this.

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

it was raw, unfiltered, and emotional
Revisado: 10-06-24
as the title suggests, she does not hold back. Not about her mother, not about herself, not about her career. She does a great job of showing how little things in our childhood can bloom into huge issues in our adulthood, and how hug things in our childhood can spiral us out of control. it was especially interesting as someone who watched her career unfold then "collapse" (or so I thought at the time)
