Need me some cleaning poltergeists!
Revisado: 06-21-21
I'd love to have poltergeists in my home that love to clean! Unfortunately, I have that one's that are constantly making messes.
This story was a bit of a slow roller coaster for me. Started off slow, picked up, than slowed down again. Nice narration, but didn't quite hit the mark in the romance department.
Guess asexual romances don't do it for me.

Great Story, Awful Narration!
Revisado: 04-24-14
What would have made Zero at the Bone better?
A professional narrator! Not some kid who sounds like he just got out of high school.
Would you be willing to try another one of Alan Smith’s performances?
NO!
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Out of a few thousand books I read in my lifetime. Zero at the Bone is one of my all time favs. But the audio version was a major disappointment. Actually was very angry that Dreamspinner couldn't cough up the money for a better narrator. I was at least expecting a more masculine voice. Not much difference in voice characterizations and even though there was emotion, it came off as whiny.
Any additional comments?
If you loved the book, Zero at the Bone, hold it close. Cause you'll no doubt feel like your best friend just died after listening to the audio.

Repressed scholar Percival Endicott Whyborne has two skills: reading dead languages and hiding in his office at the Ladysmith Museum. After the tragic death of the friend he secretly loved, he's ruthlessly suppressed any desire for another man. So when handsome ex-Pinkerton Griffin Flaherty approaches him to translate a mysterious book, Whyborne wants to finish the job and get rid of the detective as quickly as possible. Griffin left the Pinkertons following the death of his partner, hoping to start a new life. But the powerful cult that murdered Glenn has taken root in Widdershins, and only the spells in the book can stop them.

Wonderful Mystery!
Revisado: 10-16-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Oh, heck yes! As to why? Loved that it wasn't just a mystery, but had that added paranormal theme thrown in.
Absolutely love how Whyborne's narration keep true to character.
But would warn that when you first listen.
You may hear like a hollow effect in the back ground of the narration. This clears up or you've learned to ignore it as the storyline becomes more interesting. Also, there was a part or two where Griffin is whispering and I had a problem hearing what he said, but again that clears up also.
Basically tech problems that are easy fixes.
Any additional comments?
I love the narrator who read Widdershins! Except for one or two tech problems, he did a wonderful job and hopefully will narrate the next one.
Really felt like I was in that time period.

What did you love best about Deadly Nightshade?
The hits of humor. Found myself chuckling at the one liners.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Stanley first met his homophobe partner, Tom.
Any additional comments?
I had trouble listening to the narrator at first, but once I settled down and really gave him a try. Really enjoyed how he brought the characters to life.

Very Predictable
Revisado: 09-03-13
What would have made Love at First Flight better?
Don't know, the storyline just didn't grab my attention. Became very predictable and the characters were kind of bland.
What does Tanya Eby bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She's not a bad narrator, but even she couldn't bring the story to life for me.
Any additional comments?
Couldn't get into the story, started skipping in hope of picking up something that would catch my interest.

Historia
The third novel in the Adrien English series finds the "ill-starred and bookish" mystery writer and bookseller battling demons - maybe literally. After bookstore clerk Angus flees following terrifying death threats, Adrien must contend with a mysterious Satanic cult, a hot and handsome university professor, and his on-again/off-again relationship with closeted LAPD Homicide Detective Jake Riordan. And oh yes, murder...

Really Bad
Revisado: 07-18-13
What disappointed you about Matter of Time: Vol. 1?
The Narration was awful. Every sentence was followed by a pause. Nothing flowed. Very drone like.
How could the performance have been better?
Maybe something called emotion thrown in.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Matter of Time: Vol. 1?
I don't know, it bored me to tears!
Any additional comments?
I'm skipping purchasing any more audio books by Paul Morey.
