i kept seeing this book on tiktok and everyone had good things to say about it, but like i was disappointed yall. the plot sounded good, but the writing didnt meet my expectations. i guess i just dont like her writing style. HEA for sure. like unrealistic, disney type happy ending. just not my taste.

HOWEVER, the narrators were fantastic!!! they even narrate the talking parts in the others pov chapters. so if the girl is narrating pippa, but jamie talks, jamies narrator will talk. its the first time ive listened to a book that does that!

this story was so good!! its about a group of best friends who grew up together are heading to college together soon. there is a lot of history within the group including a forbidden love interest between arianna and chase. however, when chase breaks her heart, a new man is there to heal it. enter noah, the captain of the college football team. this is a story of growth, healing, drama, romance, and more.

the amount of twists and turns in the story was limitless. the plot twist had me stressed!!! but a really good ending and overall story. highly recommend!

a few thoughts!

1. the performance is good for the most part because its mostly tates pov. but boy the way the male narrator said raCHel (and it was a lot), that was rough

2. the story was great, but was drawn out since it was the same issues constantly going in a circle

3. i love a book that focused on self growth and how it plays into a healthy loving relationship

4. my favorite character was Cap because who doesn’t love a sweet old man as a side character

5. the twist of why Miles is the way that he is makes sense because that is such a life defining moment, but it felt a little off since his chapters were always so short. i LOVED the chapter that brought in Rachel though. it was a really nice change of pace

a perfectly balanced book

the narration, the writing, the story, the tropes, the relationships. they all blend perfectly into a novel that keeps you on the edge of your seat. you feel sadness and frustration and joy and love. its also a unique story considering it brings in so many new dynamics (deafness for example). overall a really, really good read

Slow burn romance!

this book was a really good listen! i love the narrator and have listened to other books she has voiced because she is able to give such life to these characters (and not in an obnoxious or annoying way).

the story was about family, self growth/discovery, with a slow burn romance. i found myself feeling so many emotions while listening to this book and i think that is really important in a good read. i highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a happy open-ended ending, but still has stressful moments throughout. the best of both worlds

decent story, just not super intriguing

it was a cute story following a two individuals. demj telling herself she doesnt want rowan and rowan knowing he wants demi but hiding it from her. my favorite character in the book was actually coach/demis dad. overall it ended nicely which i liked, i was just never hooked
