Historia
The world of UFOs and aliens is filled with controversy, speculation and mystery. What are the UFOs? Do they exist in reality or are they drawn from somewhere within the mind of man? Do they emanate from another dimension altogether or are they ancient archetypes that we have forgotten with the sands of time? The Archetype of the UFO tackles these dilemmas head on, going where few UFO books have dared to go before.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR CREDIT! A total waste
Revisado: 02-08-09
This is a total waste. The narration sounds like someone reading a basic term paper on general Ufology. Add to that the fact there are huge gaps of no narration filled by really bad techno music. Oh, also that terrible techno runs throughout the entire "audiobook."
We are also treated to a few snippets of an interview with an unnamed party. NO NOT WASTE YOUR CREDIT!! You get more info on the average Coast to Coast AM show...

Historia
What is more idyllic than a small Midwestern agricultural town? Peaksville would sound like a scene right out of a Norman Rockwell painting, except little Anthony is a monster! What happens when a child is omnipotent, and with his mind he can execute his every desire and petulant whim? Tonight, there's a birthday party for Dan Hollis at Anthony's house. It's a party all the townspeople will remember...always!

This is the original story that inspired a favorite Twilight Zone episode. A great listen and worth the price!

Nice creepy pulp
Revisado: 03-31-08
Great collection of pulp fantasy / horror from CA Smith. I reccomend this for anyone who enjoys a good pulp fantasy story with a litttl demonic creepyness and necrophagia thrown in. The narrator is suitable melladarmatic and the soundrtack (subtle ambience in the background) adds a lot.

The year 2021...no human babies have been born for a quarter of a century, not since Year Omega, anywhere in the inhabited world. The very old succumb to despair and suicide; the final generation of the young are beautiful, but violent and cruel. The middle-aged try to sustain normality under the absolute rule of Xan Lyppiatt, the charismatic dictator and Warden of England. Lyppiatt's cousin, Theo Faron, lives a solitary, self-regarding life in this ominous atmosphere.

so much potential
Revisado: 01-10-08
I have not seen the movie that was based on this book. I feel like the story had a lot of potential but it just never went anywhere. The protaganist was difficut to feel any empathy for. The Warden of England was more compelling and when the book ended I almost wondered if there shouldnt be another mp3. I was not sold on the character arc of the lead and the resolutiion, well really there was none.
The story had very interesting aspects. The tale of how people react to the end of man and the way a dying race easilsy hands over freedom for comfort were chilling but.... the book just left something to be desired.
