read this book several months ago and I still think about it! it's definitely one of my top three favorite books I have ever read! I have never reread a book but I'm planning on doing so on my upcoming road trip to the Mayo clinic. have recommended/gifted this book to so many people. I'm really hoping the author writes another one soon!

outstanding and I don't like fantasy!!
Revisado: 02-18-25
I needed to find a book to complete the fantasy/epic portion of the goodread challenge. I went through over 15 books in the list and dnf them. I finally tried the book of doors and was hooked immediately!! this is the first fantasy book I made it through and actually enjoyed! I read it in one day! I could not put it down. the characters and the storyline was absolutely outstanding!! normally I would never even attempt a time travel fantasy book. I don't like sci-fi I don't like anything paranormal I don't like anything fantasy. so if you are like me and wanting to try fantasy or time travel then this is definitely the book to read!!!

why all these 5 star reviews???
Revisado: 11-02-24
the only reason I finished this book was based on the reviews I saw in the app. everyone left amazing reviews. so I kept waiting for the book to get better. I had it figured out from the start. I couldn't understand why she kept engaging and responding. I love cyber crime stories but this one was a predictable mess. she couldn't keep her mouth shut and then played victim..
narration was awful, I hated all the background music and noises.. I know this is her story but she should have gotten someone else to narrate. shocked I even finished this book.
I don't always leave reviews, especially one Stars but I wanted others to know all those five stars have to be fake.. other sitrs do not have the same type of ratings..

predictable but entertaining
Revisado: 08-08-24
I figured the entire story out early on but the story was engaging and kept me entertained. I liked the back and forth POV of the two main characters.. one of the narrators when doing different voices made it difficult for me to understand what they were saying. aside from that I highly recommend.

fun mama drama thriller
Revisado: 07-31-24
the cover caught my attention and when I read the synopsis I was sold and pre-ordered this book. the book definitely was everything I love in this type of domestic thriller. the book is told in multiple POV all having their own narrators. the book is satire but if you have ever dealt with PTO moms especially in a wealthier neighborhood this is so relatable. I devoured this book in one sitting.

disappointed ☹️ 2.5 ⭐

can't believe this is the same author who wrote the drowning woman. Harding is always an auto buy for me and I had this book preordered for awhile. I love all of her books. however, this book fell flat. maybe I'm not the targeted audience to read but it just wasn't good. maybe my hopes were too high? I kept having to go back and relisten since I was bored thru the entire thing. which never happens with her books, I'm always on the edge of my seat with her nail biting thrillers.
the main character just put out her first debut novel called the burnt orchid. she ends up getting a negative review. things esculate and the MC just handles everything ridiculously. I couldn't connect with any character in this book. they were all selfish and dumb. the only thing I found thrilling was the book the MC wrote. there are snippets of the Burnt orchard every few chapters. I wish that was the plot of this story. it sounded more exciting. I think the last few chapters were the best part of the book. I will admit I didn't figure out the big twist at the end.
maybe other authors or bloggers would relate to this book more then I did. Robyn Harding will still remain one of my favorite writers and I'll continue to purchase her books on autobuy.
narration was 5/5

not a thriller at all *no spoiler review*
Revisado: 06-22-24
Why did I even finish this book?? It was the worst book I ever read. I thought I accidently bought a first aid manual instead of playing with fire. 90% of the book was different medical emergencies and long drawn out explanations on how to fix it.
Two teens go on a hike and there's a fire. They realize they are trapped and make their way back to the water. There, they meet up with a group of adults, a baby, a kid and an elderly lady with dementia or Alzheimer's.
While stranded at the water a helicopter drops a weighted plastic bag down with a note telling them there's a bad fire, it's dangerous and head to a bridge a few miles away.
Wyatt one of the two teens also an eagles scout and his date Natalia who takes first aid classes yearly takes lead of the group. Along the way each person encounters a medical problem. Dislocated knee, low blood sugar from diabetes, severe burns, asthma attacks. Natalia and wyatt always knew what to do and always had everything they needed to handle whatever emergency came next.
This part was so annoying. Most of the book was Wyatt and Natalia coming to the rescue regarding so many unbelievable situations. They would walk 10 ft and OMG someone has a broken bone. Here comes Wyatt and natalia to the rescue and the next 20 pages explained why they came to their decision.
There was absolutely no thrill in this book. It felt more like a video you would watch in health class to learn different first aid techniques. The ending was totally unbelievable. Only reason I finished it was because it was so short and I sped the audiobook up to 2.5x the speed

loved this! no spoiler review
Revisado: 06-21-24
Breaking Wild was such a captivating and compelling story. The character development and descriptive writing makes you feel as tho you are right there.
Amy is lost in the Colorado wilderness after a bad decision while she was bow hunting solo. When Amy doesn't return to her camp, Pru, who is a ranger in the Colorado mountains is called in with her beloved search and rescue dog. The story then goes on to tell both the backstory and present day situation of both women in alternating point of views.
The author did an amazing job making you feel as though you were right there. Survival stories especially in snow are totally my guilty pleasure. This story kept me entertained and anxious wondering if she would be found. I listened to the audiobook at 2.5 times the speed just so I could finish it in one sitting.
If you enjoy survival stories with badass female characters which tells a believable story then this book would be for you.
I thought the narration was perfect. 5/5 for narration and 4.5 for the book.
