Historia
Marion Zimmer Bradley was a best-selling science fiction author and a feminist icon. She was also a monster. The Last Closet: The Dark Side of Avalon is a brutal tale of a harrowing childhood. It is the true story of predatory adults preying on the innocence of children without shame, guilt, or remorse. The Last Closet is also an inspiring story of survival. It is the story of Moira Greyland, the only daughter of Marion Zimmer Bradley and convicted child molester Walter Breen, told in her own words.

Amazing story, fearlessly and unflinchingly told. This is a very brave woman. You are not alone in your experiences of childhood sexual abuse. POWERFUL.

The Awful Narrator is Growing on Me
Revisado: 06-06-19
Maybe the horrid narrator is growing on me or maybe I'm just getting used to her monotone expressionless angry all the time sounding voice. Who knows? At any rate, I like the characters and the mysteries and the time period so I'll stick with it for that only. You have been warned!

Historia
Thinking that she has been summoned by German immigrant Agnes Otto to usher a new life into the world, midwife Sarah Brandt is greeted by the news of an untimely death instead. It seems that Agnes' beautiful younger sister, Gerda, had fallen into the life of a "charity girl". Caught up in the false glamour of the city's nightlife, she would trade her company and her favors for lavish gifts. And now she was dead - victim, no doubt, of one of her "gentlemen friends".

Terrible Narrator Good Story
Revisado: 05-24-19
Literally the worst narration I've ever heard. Liked the story, will probably purchase additional titles. Hopefully a change in Narrator is forthcoming!

Worst Narrator EVER!
Revisado: 04-25-19
Really enjoyed the story and the characters, but the narrator is completely awful. I had a hard time distinguishing who was saying what and her monotone delivery was really horrid, no expression WHATSOEVER. I think I would have enjoyed this book more in the written form thanks to the lousy voice work done here.

Not impressed
Revisado: 04-22-19
This is just a romance novel wrapped in supernatural mumbo jumbo...meh. The characters are pretty typical for any adventure/romance. I was unimpressed.

If you can get past the first 2/3rds...
Revisado: 09-07-18
Performance was excellent. The first 2/3 of the book are very dry indeed, and do not quite make up for the thrilling final 3rd. This is a very subtle book, but lovely in its subtlety. If you read between the lines, THAT story is worth the read.
