Historia
Retired romance novelist Sara Medlar has been comfortably sharing her large home with her niece Kate and her “honorary grandson” Jack. It’s a convenient arrangement given the Medlar Three, as they’ve become known, are often working closely together to solve mysteries in their small town of Lachlan, Florida. But when real estate agent Kate announces she’s been given the listing for the town’s storied Lachlan House, it sets off alarm bells for Sara and Jack. The infamous house has a dark history, one that’s certain to haunt them all.

LOVED this series Finished With A Bang
Revisado: 01-11-25
I thoroughly enjoyed each of the books in this series and couldn’t wait for the next one to become available. I was afraid that I would be disappointed in this (can it really be the last Medlar Mystery?) installment after reading some of the reviews. Honestly it was the BEST yet. Yes there was a lot going on including tying up some loose ends from Sarah’s, Kate’s and Jack’s past BUT this book kept me guessing about the who dunnit until the very end. That’s how I judge the quality of a book along with the humor and readability. There was little predictability but a great adventure to the end with the appropriate amount of sweetness. I am really a bit disappointed that it seems I won’t have another in this particular series to look forward to. I hate for it to end but thrilled it ended so well.

The Lily part of the story is superb and provides much food for reflection about benefits we have in our world and what we may have difficulty keeping. The “present story “ ending macabre. Not my favorite but past books will probably keep me looking for new stories from Irina
Performance as always superb and I definitely look for works by this narrator

One small handwritten letter, sent from a dark, remote corner of the planet and lost in the system for 60 years, is about to change the entire human race. Outside Denver, Colorado, Joe Rickards stands over a small aircraft wreckage, studying burnt remains still smoldering in a field of freshly fallen snow. He's an investigator for the NTSB, working to carefully roll back the last several hours and identify the cause of the accident. But this time, he can't.

Riveting to the End and Last Minute Twists
Revisado: 10-01-22
I ALWAYS LOVE Saaskia M’s performance’s because that’s what they are, so much more than narration. She gives each character dimension. This was no less so.
Okay at first it took me a few chapters to get into the story but after the character development I could not stop listening. I judge a book at whether I can and how quickly I successfully anticipate the ending. I didn’t in this one (except for the fact it’s Princess Elizabeth who actually gets the prince).
As always Kate Quinn’s research was thorough and well written. So I learned some more history and was completely absorbed in a book I did not want to end.
I usually do NOT write a complete review but I had to for this one. So don’t hesitate to grab this one. And enjoy.

A totally unexpected pleasure and does not disappoint
Revisado: 05-13-22
I thoroughly enjoyed the Tradd Street series. I read/listened to every book as soon as it was available. It was really a disappointment to learn that the series had come to an end.
BUT This was a great transition to a spin-off. It was smartly written and the narration was excellent. As much as I enjoyed the Tradd Street series…….this was even better. I can’t wait for the next book.

NEW APPRECIATION for an Old Classic
Revisado: 02-24-22
The first of Agatha Christie’s Poitou novels is mot only a who dunnit but also a how to write entertaining suspense. Richard Armitage’s narration is a how to bring a story to life. What a performance!!!! Each character was artfully given their own distinctive voices and speech patterns. I felt like I was listening to multiple narrators. It was totally entertaining. I am going to look for more books narrated by this masterful artist.

Riveting
Revisado: 09-01-19
I rarely use that word to describe a book. This might even have been better than the riveting Alice Network. Multiple plots within the plot were each superb and not at all predictable. So well written I felt as though I knew each character.
The performance was perfect. Made me feel like I was listening to a play with multiple cast members.
I couldn’t tear myself away. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat
I NEVER take the time to write reviews. This book and performance compelled me to do so.
