So very good!
Revisado: 04-08-25
I really enjoyed the audible. But there were so many characters and so much flipping from times that it was a little confusing. I felt like I needed a flip chart.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Connor Harwood is a snoop, a bad neighbor, and a tree and grass killer. Oh, and probably a criminal. I can’t forget that part. The fact that I find him to be the handsomest guy I’ve ever laid eyes on is completely irrelevant. I’ll just have to keep a close watch while also ignoring his very existence. I can do both, right?

Glad I got this on audible. I think k the voice really added to the realism. Loved that she used real places and real events. It's so heartbreaking to know vets were treated so poorly. I'm glad we as a nation know now that even if we hate the war. We never hate the warrior.

Alchemist Zoe Faust and her impish gargoyle sidekick Dorian Robert-Houdin travel to Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris to investigate a mysterious discovery found in the wreckage of the tragic fire: a long-lost gargoyle illustration drawn by Victor Hugo himself. When the work of art is stolen under impossible circumstances, Dorian must use his “little gray cells” — not to mention his culinary skills — to solve the crime and discover the true origins of where he came from.

Enjoying this series of books. The visuals of Paris are so believable. And I can actually see in my mind the gargoyle. And find myself rooting for the stone figure!

Kinda monotonous
Revisado: 07-17-24
I love the idea of fixing out what happens to each friend. But this one … I found myself saying COME ON ALREADY!! She was whining. Always so self absorbed. But acted like she wasn’t. The reason why was understandable. But I felt like it as about 100 pages of saying the same thing again and again. I would recommend reading it if you liked the first book bomut don’t expect the same read.

Historia
Nestled in the mountain shadows of Alabama lies the little town of Wicklow. It is here that Anna Kate has returned to bury her beloved Granny Zee, owner of the Blackbird Café. It was supposed to be a quick trip to close the café and settle her grandmother’s estate, but despite her best intentions to avoid forming ties or even getting to know her father’s side of the family, Anna Kate finds herself inexplicably drawn to the quirky Southern town her mother ran away from so many years ago, and the mysterious blackbird pie everybody can’t stop talking about.

Historia
Olivia McAfee knows what it feels like to start over. Her picture-perfect life—living in Boston, married to a brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon, raising their beautiful son, Asher—was upended when her husband revealed a darker side. She never imagined that she would end up back in her sleepy New Hampshire hometown, living in the house she grew up in and taking over her father’s beekeeping business. Lily Campanello is familiar with do-overs, too. When she and her mom relocate to Adams, New Hampshire, for her final year of high school, they both hope it will be a fresh start.

I read this as a book club book. I didn’t know anything about it before I read it. I’m so glad I read it this way.
If you are deciding to read it or not. Read it! And don’t read anyone’s review! It was a great story. And I learned so much while not being able to figure it out at all. So, if someone saw me reading it my facial expressions were constantly… WHAT?!!!

A great read but took me a minute
Revisado: 10-20-22
Beginning I have a difficult time not being very frustrated with the females in the book. Friend of mine was reading it at the same time and told me to keep going and the women didn’t grow up. So I don’t want to give any spoilers away. But at the end of the book ... I will recommend.

Her unique character, along with her obsessive love of cleaning and proper etiquette, make her an ideal fit for the job.
