Historia
The fireplace is lit, the snow is falling, and sleigh bells echo in the distance - it’s Christmas, and it’s time to come home. Thirty-five-year-old Heath Sawyer has finally made it to the big-time as a country music star. After a year full of the kind of success he could only dream of, it’s December 23, and he’s headlining a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden. It’s only as the lights on the stage go down and the Christmas lights outside come on that Heath realizes there’s just one place he wants to be for the holidays: Back home in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Ella Mae LeFaye's Charmed Pie Shoppe is wildly popular in Havenwood, Georgia, which is not surprising since Ella Mae can lace her baked goods with enchantments. The shop's extraordinary success seems destined to continue when Ella Mae meets an engaged couple who hire her to handle the dessert buffet at their wedding.

Historia
Growing up amid Kansas wheat fields and airplane factories, Sarah Smarsh witnessed firsthand the particular vulnerabilities - and strengths - of women in working poverty. Meanwhile, country songs by female artists played in the background, telling powerful stories about life, men, hard times, and surviving. In her family, she writes, “country music was foremost a language among women. It’s how we talked to each other in a place where feelings aren’t discussed.” And no one provided that language better than Dolly Parton.

too much politics
Revisado: 02-16-22
The story does not live up to the expectations of the title . Quickly i determined was focused on the authors own political beliefs. Gave up listening which is rare for me.

Where is the rest of the story
Revisado: 04-17-16
Would you try another book from Rosemary Rogers and/or Amy Marks?
The Kindle and printed versions of this book are fantastic. But Wow what a disappointment to find the audio is only the first 1/4th of the story. The entire Ginny and Steve struggle is completely missing. You would think this is the end of the story, and yet the book is much more indepth and the struggles don't leave a true happy ending. SO this is not a complete book by any measure. Sorry but was very sad substitution.

Every Family needs a Pearl at sometime
Revisado: 02-15-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This book made my heart sing. It brought a warmth back to what family truely can be
What did you like best about this story?
The accomplishment of change when the mind wants it.. The warmth was there.
What about Celia Weston’s performance did you like?
The Character of Pearl you could just "see" her. I throughtly enjoyed her reading of all the characters.
Any additional comments?
This was a surprising book. It wasn't deep and it didn't follow with all the soppy Christmas stories . The spark of magic had an entirely different slant. I'd listen to another one.
